“The late Corporal Sakiusa Dogo was a well known officer in the Northern Division, honest and fair in the conduct of his duties.” Words echoed by the Deputy Divisional Police Commander Northern Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Kemueli Baledrokadroa while delivering the eulogy for the late Corporal Sakiusa Dogo who was called to rest on the 7th of February this year at the Labasa Hospital.
Members of the Fiji Police Force delegation led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair paid their last respects to the late officer at his home in Tuatua, Labasa.
The late officer who hailed from Korowiri village in Labasa with maternal links to Vuadomo in Savusavu joined the organisation as a Special Constable in 1995 before being enlisted as a regular officer in 1998.
He had served at various stations within the Northern Division as well as the Fiji Police Academy.
In his years of service he was awarded the Fiji Police Long Service Medal in 2017, completed numerous courses such as the Constables Qualifying, Basic Intelligence, Counter Terrorism Intelligence, Corporals Development Course, Customer Service workshop, Fire Wardens Course as well as the Pepper Spray training.
SP Baledrokadroka said the late Cpl Dogo will be missed as he was a friend to all, approachable, a hard working officer and was well known throughout Labasa.
The late Cpl Dogo's sister Losalini Vakau spoke on behalf of his family said her brother was a devoted father figure, also a good friend of many ethnic group members in Labasa.
He is survived by his wife Laniana Matamedre and three children.
