Red Dead Redemption 2 The Artist’s Way Stranger Mission Walkthrough

The Artist’s Way is a Stranger Mission Strand (Side Questline) in Red Dead Redemption 2. This Walkthrough shows how to complete these Stranger Missions in RDR2.

Requirements: having finished The Joys of Civilization (early Chapter 4)

The Artist’s Way Starting Location

Starting early Chapter 4, we can meet quite an interesting character in a Saloon in Northern Saint Denis. His name is Charles Châtenay, a French Painter, Casanova and an all-around funny guy to talk to.

Part II

A few days after our first encounter we can find Charles in an alley, threatened by a man. If you threaten him yourself, he will go away. Seems like Charles got into trouble for sleeping his way through town again. Before saying goodbye, he invites us to his Vernissage.

Part III

Another few days after the previous scene, we can visit his exhibition in a gallery in town. Go through the archway and up the stairs to the right.

Seems like his paintings are too scandalous for the taste of the visitors, especially because they depict some of the visitors and their spouses & family.

Arthur is quite amused but has to settle manners with a fist-fight soon. Once completed, follow Charles out of the Gallery and across the street. He knows a place to hide for a few days. Of course, it is with another lady…

Part IV

Another few days after the Gallery-Incident, we can meet a lovely lady, no wait, what the…
…we can meet Charles, dressed up as some sort of Geisha, trying to get out of town. Seems like he stirred up enough trouble here.

While escorting him to the port, we have to evade some group of men who are looking for him for a number of reasons.
The first bunch can be lost by hiding behind the tram which is just passing by. They will lose line of sight there.
When passing the post office, Charles spots some more trouble on the other side and so we will cut through the post office itself.
When reaching the ship he wants to board there are another three men looking for him, engaging us in a fist-fight.
Time to stand up for our little funny French fellow and beat them down.
