Forget holiday season, it's stain season in Australia.
With summertime upon us, laundry battles are heating up across the country with stain gremlins like suncream, fake tan, ice-cream, BBQ sauce, makeup and sweat all pulling their usual tricks.
But stain season isn't just about elbow grease - it also comes with a larger volume of laundry loads, increased energy bills, and some surprising laundry habits that vary between Australian states and territories.
That's why Samsung's new range of AI washers and dryers are so convenient, helping households save up to 60 per cent of energy when using AI energy mode on a cold wash cycle. [1]
In this article, we unpack the latest data from Samsung about Australia's surprising laundry habits and how to best tackle the unique challenges of stains this summer.
According to Samsung's recent report on laundry habits [2], South Australia is the state most ignorant to washing machine settings, with 64 per cent stating they use an auto cycle for every garment.
Interestingly, despite their laid-back approach to settings, South Australia is also the most likely state to panic about stains and rush to remove them, while New South Wales is the most relaxed.
Victoria has also taken a title for their unconventional laundry habits.
They are the most likely state to wear their underwear the longest without washing, with 17 per cent of Victorians admitting to often wearing their undies for more than one day. Similarly, Victorians are the most likely to keep their t-shirt on for another day, before washing.
But it's not just a Victorian thing - Western Australians are also the least likely state to wash their gym towels after one use. In fact, 56 per cent will get 3 or more uses out of their gym towels before washing them.
When it comes to battling stains and reducing household energy usage, Samsung's Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is a first-of-its-kind large-capacity washer and dryer unit that can adapt to your personal needs and washing habits.
This advanced all-in-one appliance not only combines the convenience of a washer and dryer but also integrates cutting-edge AI technology to help transform laundry day into an effective, energy-saving experience. [3]
"Our new Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo uses AI innovation to learn your usage patterns and provide recommendations to help care for your clothes to help you do more in less time," said Jeremy Senior, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia.
"The Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo embodies Samsung's broader Bespoke AI commitment to make homes more functional to suit individual needs, and enhance and simplify everyday life with advanced AI technology. This new all-in-one washer and dryer combo unlocks another level of value and convenience beyond the laundry, by helping to monitor energy usage and aligning chores to suit Australians schedule. It's about adding convenience and efficiency to your routine, so you can focus on what matters most."
A key feature of the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is the AI Opti Wash & Dry for laundry efficiency.
This advanced system uses a range of sensors to optimise both washing and drying for each load, including by sensing the weight of the laundry and accurately dispenses the right amount of water and detergent. [4]
After the wash cycle, the technology customises the drying process based on the weight and type of fabric.
Through the Samsung SmartThings App, you can also monitor energy consumption in real-time, receive an estimated electricity bill, and even get alerts if their usage exceeds a pre-set target. [5]
Whatever your laundry habits, these machines learn your patterns and optimise every load, making laundry day smarter, not harder.
Stain season doesn't have to mean endless loads, skyrocketing energy bills or forgoing washing your underwear.
With Samsung's Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo, you can conquer summer's toughest stains while monitoring your energy use.
It's just one smarter way to make the most of the summer.
