Old Playing-Cards, From the Fifteenth to the Nineteenth Century. "This sixth volume of the Hungaria Books was printed in Budapest in the winter of 1939-1940 in the studio of The Hungaria Printing Office, according to the typographical plans by Albert Kner, the wood-engravings were made by George Kaza, the dies by Albert Kner. It was awarded the title 'The Finest Book of the Year' by the Hungarian Bibliophile Society." Copy number 57 belonging to Miss Anne Swainson. Multicolor pictorial boards, cream cloth spine with red and black lettering. Illustrated with colorful prints of playing cards. Mild toning to end papers, light wear to edges of boards. Very good condition. Scarce.
