If there is one film genre that tends to divide audiences more so than others, it's musicals. For some reason, there are people who love to passionately bash any movie where characters break out into song. It makes no difference if it's The Phantom of the Opera or High School Musical; to the haters, they are both equally unwatchable. On the other side of the coin, fans can sometimes be a bit overwhelming with their undying love of musicals. You wouldn't expect the fusion of music and narrative to be so controversial, yet it totally is. Regardless of your personal feelings toward musicals, it would be silly to pretend the amount of artistic talent and innovation that goes into making them don't happen. Weird History readers are sharing what they think is the most underrated movie musical, and seeing their devotion is making our hearts sing. Which of these musicals do you agree deserves more love?

The Blues Brothers. The great music kind of gets forgotten about because of the great comedic moments and the exciting car chases. But the movie is at its heart Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi’s love letter to rhythm and blues music.

Moulin Rouge. ‘Come What May’ is brilliant. It's highway robbery to me that ‘Come What May’ didn't win an Oscar. It's unfortunate because they were originally going to use that song for Romeo & Juliet I believe.

Across the Universe. It's so brilliant, I think the reason why most people don’t love it is because it’s so artsy.
