Wild Black Rabbits

I saw a black rabbit on the roadside this morning. First time I've ever seen a black rabbit in the wild, I didn't know you could get wild black rabbits. Thing is, is it a wild rabbit or someones pet?

That's what I initially thought. I always worry about things like that.

Common for them to escape and breed in the wild, though normally they’re not around very long.

Mate of mine brought 2 or 3 pet rabbits to the farm and turned them loose in the hay barns.
Didn’t take very long before the whole farm was overrun with them.

There is one knocking about on the pit heaps over our way. To be honest I've never seen as many rabbits kicking about. Won't be there much longer once the Kelloe lads decide it hunting season again.
