A rare gem for first home buyers has been listed in Lane Cove, with a selling price well under the $650,000 stamp duty cut off.
James Bennett, of Belle Property Lane Cove, said the one-bedroom, top-floor apartment at 14/4 Elizabeth Pde was unique for its location. It is for sale by private treaty, with a guide of $450,000-$500,000.
“It’s very rare to get a unit under $600,000 in the area, particularly one that is not on a main road,” he said.

“With investor numbers lower at the moment, there are great opportunities for first home buyers to get into the market.
“I think first home buyers are out trying to take advantage of no stamp duty under $650,000.”
The small but neat and tidy apartment, with bedroom ensuite and no parking, is one of 14 units in the secure, boutique building.
It has an elevated park side outlook with northerly aspect, and is a short walk to city-bound express buses.
Another first homebuyer pad, in neighbouring Lane Cove North, is not as rare, but has an even tinier price.
A 30sqm studio at 37/450 Pacific Highway is for sale with a guide of $330,000.
“Why pay rent when you can pay your own mortgage?” John McManus, of LJ Hooker Willoughby Artarmon, said.
“I see a lot of young people buying them and using it as a stepping stone into the north shore.”
