REDLANDS >> Discussions continue Tuesday on the city’s district-based election boundary maps.

The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on an ordinance establishing the map known as Map 2b and associated election sequencing for the city’s future district-based elections.

The council continued the public hearing March 21 after learning one of the maps incorrect.

If approved, the council will hold a second hearing on the ordinance April 18.

Also on the agenda:

• Presentations declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and April 4 as Equal Pay Day.

• The second reading of an amending to the city’s fireworks ordinance.

• A $2,400 donation from the Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society.

• A $21,195 Homeland Security grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for additional multi-unit radio chargers, vehicular radio chargers, RFID capable identification card printer and equipment for the All-Terrain Vehicle for the Redlands Fire Department.

• A $30,000 grant from the National League of Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool and Summer Meal programs.

• Two appointments to the Street Tree Committee

• A settlement and general release agreement with Farmers Insurance Exchange

• A presentation of the Redlands Skatepark video.

• A request to increase in the annual purchase order with Applied LNG Technologies for additional liquefied natural gas and compressed natural gas to be dispensed at the city’s corporate yard.

• A public hearing on annexing about 30 acres of land on the east side of Texas Street, north of Pioneer Avenue, into the Community Facilities District.

The City Council meets at 5 p.m. for closed session and 6 p.m. for open session the first and third Tuesday of the month at City Hall, 35 Cajon St.
