“the food is great and staff is friendly and prompt. Will be going back for more. Chef Jon and Lindsey are a incredible team and there food proves it”
“It’s been awhile, and I was looking forward to returning to this spacious, pleasant spot for wine, drinks and OUTSTANDING food. They have not disappointed. I believe they’ve upped their game with portion sizes (unnecessarily for us; great, well crafted food served beautifully takes time and attention) but my husband will take home half his Mill Mountain Charcuterie plate. More than enough for two. I inhaled the Spinach & Artichoke flatbread, as I did last time and probably shouldn’t have considering I’m just one person. We did the Richard’s Favorite Flight followed by a glass of bubbles for me and Maple Bourbon Smash for him. Bravo and cheers! Come on down!”
“Fine dining, excellent food and friendly professional staff.”
“Why did it take so long to discover this restaurant in Roanoke? Sidecar has been here a few years but with not much fanfare. This is dining at its finest in Roanoke. You will spend some money but the service and food is excellent. I was impressed with the great beer list featuring some of the world's best brews on tap, a great wine list, and cocktails traditional and new.”

“This was our first time at Fortunato. We were dining before a show. The service was prompt, but not rushed, so that we could have plenty of time to enjoy our meal and get to our show on time. Well done!”
“The fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and greens are out of this world. They give you enough for two meals. The chicken is fried to order and incredibly tender. The greens are delicious and are shockingly vegan! They use smoked apple cider vinegar for flavor. For an appetizer, we tried the Akara, black eyed pea fritters. So good! I had a pear and bourbon craft cocktail that was smooth and delish. So good I had two. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is great. It's a small place with nice decor. Great bar! The music is not too loud. Overall, one of the best in Roanoke. I look forward to returning and trying some new items. You cannot go wrong with that chicken!”

“When I say the food at THE HATCH was delicious oh my I can't wait to go back again. The atmosphere was wonderful and the waitress Amber was so nice and very attentive to us. I even bought food home to my sister for dinner. I told my friends about it and they will be visiting soon.”
“We came through Roanoke and ate at Hollywood Restaurant & Bakery. Food and service were fabulous but I want to rave about their customer service after we left. I called a few days later because I had left a jacket on the back of my chair. I asked if I could pay to have it shipped to me. They offered to ship it for free. It arrived at my home in Chesapeake, VA in great condition. Thank you so much. That is true customer service.”

“Authentic Italian food. Not what you find in the chain restaurants. Antipasto was delicious. The speck and fennel pizza could be the tastiest pizza we have ever eaten. The tiramisu is as good as a trattoria in Rome!!”
“Excellent, fresh cuisine. Absolutely loved the locally sourced trout with kimchi fried rice.”

“My husband and I first visited The Hotel Roanoke last year for a "mini-moon" after our marriage. This year, we revisited for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. To add to the festivities, we dine our first night at The Regency Room. The food is spectacular. The music is amazing. The environment is breath taking. The service is out-of-this-world! Would like to take a moment to thank the host for his hospitality, kindness and going out of his way to make each guest feel special. The second night of our trip he saw us walk by the dining room and followed us to the elevator to say "Hello" and to "Come see him again." I am still so impressed and touched by the gesture.”
“Frankie Rowland's Steakhouse 104 South Jefferson St. Roanoke, VA 5-Stars On the final leg of our sojourn around the Eastern Seaboard, we decided to try the highly rated Frankie Rowland's Steakhouse in ancient Roanoke, VA. Keeping a wary eye on my GPS (I didn't want to go missing) we soon arrived at our destination. Stepping out of the Big Boy Mobile with an air of equitation, we stepped inside. Having been here since 2001, one could argue they have become something of an icon in these parts, famously known for their selection of potables boasting over 120 wines and 130 liquors and offering 70 different kinds of martinis. I suspect, had this been around in the 50s, this would have been Deano's favorite haunt. When I partake of fine dining out of town, I really turn the Big Boy character on high speed since there is a less than 1% chance anyone will recognize me. This allows me to be an extra persnickety diner for sh*ts & giggles. Hunter is our waiter this evening and he truly rolled with the punches. I put him through the wringer with my questions, and he, along with the entire service staff, was amazing. This garnered a 100% tip. Yes, you read that right. I asked Hunter for one Sidecar Martini, a Caesar salad and a 20 oz Ribeye with a side of Brussels sprouts. Sitting back and reflecting on our short jaunt my companion and I leisurely awaited Hunter's return. My drink came before the meal, as requested, and was superb. Hats off to the barkeep. Snapping the required pics of the place, I saw Hunter returning with our grub. I could smell the steak from here, or someone's steak, regardless I was practically drooling by the time he reached our table. As I actually do posses a modicum of culture (thanks mom) I began with the Caesar salad. As one can see from the picture, the lettuce was fresh, dark green and crisp. The Parmesan was freshly shaved and the anchovies were bedded on top. This is the standard al Caesar salads should be held against. Masterful! Before I talk about the steak, I implore you to take a look at that picture. Now, look again. What you are looking at, loyal reader is the perfect steak. It is seared the correct amount and is just a beautiful shade of red on the inside. One bite and the meat practically melted on my tongue it was so tender. This had to be some of the best bovine flesh I've ever had the pleasure of masticating. Seriously, this was so incredibly good, I'm looking at nearby real estate. Not really, but I've a mind to! The Big Boy says, “If you find yourself in Roanoke for some reason, perhaps looking for the lost colony or within 150 miles, stop and eat here. Frankie Rowland's is in my Top 5 All USA!””
“This is our favorite place for a special date night. The food is always AMAZING!!! We have never once had a bad meal or bad service. I highly recommend the ahi tuna with crawfish risotto.”

“Don't usually go inside but had a little extra time this visit so I found a seat at a table and proceeded to enjoy my breakfast. Shortly, I noticed employees standing in the doorway greeting customers (some by name), offering refills on drinks, removing empty trays, etc. Nice new hospitality feature! Stop in at the Franklin Road store for a pleasant fast food dining experience!”

“Dine on 12/22/2022. Prepared perfectly, presented attractively scallops with bok choy. Fresh oysters with tasty sauce. Highly recommend.”

“I’ve been smoking BBQ for decades and have never found a brisket as good as mine. Until I tried Mama Jeans. Their brisket is actually better than mine. I mean, so much so that I haven’t opened my pit for brisket since trying theirs. I’ve been back several times, and every single time the brisket is juicy, perfectly smoked and just tender as a mother’s love! Now the chicken, well to get a better piece of chicken, you’d have to be a rooster! Oh my word, the chicken is amazing. Their sausage is tremendous and their sides are just amazing. I’m not saying I eat here a lot but when I started eating at mama jeans I only weighed 185 pounds! I can tell you these 262 pounds of happy man highly recommends Mama Jeans! It’s Blues Man approved!”
“While just about every place in the US has some variation of pho to offer, this place has a special Michelin-Star quality to it. I’ve had pho everywhere from Missouri to Southeast Asia, and this is undeniably some of the best pho I’ve ever tried. The broth is clean, rich, and flavorful, paired along with juicy and tender meats all topped with fresh herbs and veggies, making for a very soul warming bowl of pho. The atmosphere appears to be family oriented, warm, and quite welcoming. Prices start around $15 for an entree and drinks start at 75 cents for a bottle of water (free cups of water are offered), and go up from there. Overall it’s a delicious and comforting experience and I’d absolutely find myself returning here as the winter months approach.”
“My husband I are huge Mission fans. They catered our wedding! Last night our food was subpar so I called over to explain the disappointment. Tony took care of us without us having to put up a fight! Needless to say, Mission will always get our business due to the stellar customer service!”
“I got one of their Gunslinger burgers with ghost pepper cheese and serrano chilies and it was SPICY in the yummiest way. Their hushpuppies and chocolate shake were perfect. I was impressed by all the different flavor options for burgers and milkshakes. And the cooks were handsome!”
“I went to Sweet donkey tonight for the first time since moving to Southwest Roanoke and all my friends have recommended it. I was not disappointed. I have celiac and I had the best cranberry white chocolate gluten-free muffin… My iced coffee with oat milk was perfect and the service was lovely and the ambience inside and out was great. I love the little garden with the Twinkling lights.. I just found my new favorite coffee shop.”
“vwey friendly staff, great service food was amazing and the wait wasn't long at all, plus all the extras we picked up!”

“Hair in the food!! Yuk! I ordered mushrooms for a side with my steak. As I was eating them, I looked down and there was a hair in them! They took them back and brought more. I had already lost my appetite by then. My husband also ordered a side of mushrooms, when he was finished, he looked in the bottom of the bowl, and yep! You guessed it, there was a hair in his too. When I brought it to the managers attention, he said it's probably just part of the mushroom. NO!! I know the difference between a hair and a piece of mushroom. We were only discounted ONE DOLLAR, and basically laughed at. We will never go back again!! Update, I was finally refunded 100% of my money.”
“Blown away by my breakfast this morning, had to leave a review before I left the parking lot.
I had the fried catfish biscuit and added an egg on top, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. 😍
The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, it was so good that I’m afraid to order fish anywhere else in the soon future because it won’t be as good as what I just had here. 🥲
We shared a half order of blueberry Nutella French toast that was soooo good.
Can’t wait to come back next time I’m back in Roanoke.

“This restaurant is really cost-effective! For only $17 per person, you can enjoy a sumptuous all-you-can-eat Chinese meal. There is a wide selection of dishes, ranging from sushi and seafood to classic Chinese stir-fries. The food is fresh and the dishes are replenished quickly, which is totally worth the price. The environment is spacious and the seats are comfortable, making it a good choice for gatherings or a simple meal. If you are looking for a buffet with high CP value, this is worth a try!”
“Great brewpub! Facilities are well kept. Staff is friendly. It's so great they have food available, and not just a food truck. But...food was just okay. Got a Railyard Steak and Cheese in a wrap, and the Twisted Fries. Wrap was very greasy, but not really flavourful, and the fries were okay but not that hot. For the price, both should have been better. Brewery is a five star experience, but their food brings it down one star
Parking: Parking can be limited”
“One of our favorite restaurants! The staff is AMAZING and the food is always top shelf. We live in Greensboro NC and make the 2 hour trip because of the food. HIGHLY recommend Caribbica Soul. You won't be disappointed!”
“Fun space, great patio, excellent beer. We really enjoyed our stop at Starr Hill. Both beers I had were very good, the space is great with an awesome patio, and the bartender was helpful and friendly.”

“This is the best Jamaican food I have literally had in my life! These people are so nice and friendly I would recommend this place to anybody looking to experience some real authentic Jamaican food. 10 out of 10 no question! Been coming here for over a year and they NEVER MISS!”
“This is my favorite Mexican place in all of Roanoke. They will make anything vegetarian for me, even if it isn't on the menu. They are so sweet and the food is delicious. It's an incredible value for your money as well. We always get multiple meals out of what we order. They're also one of the few places that do breakfast. It's a 10 every time.”
“Just moved to Roanoke and have to find new places to go for dinner. Have been there for dinner tonight and would recommend this place. I had the pepper steak with white rice and vegetables and a spring roll. My husband had the Bai Lok Lak. All was very tasty. Restaurant is clean and Mario is super friendly and attentive . Will definitely come back.”
“My husband & I are new to Roanoke and just found City Corner 2. So delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and talking with the ladies who run the restaurant. Food was fantastic & the ladies were delightful and accommodating. We are so pleased this place is near us. We will be regulars! Highly recommend!”
“I really enjoy the ramen here compared to some of the other options nearby. There's only one downtown that beats, but this is a close second. I also swap the crab salad and dressing in the Chef's special to customize my bowl, usually with miso salmon and sesame ginger. Quick, filling and delicious! Matcha smoothie is pretty good, too.”
“Best brewery in Roanoke! bar staff always on point! owner is awesome!”

“I thought it was lovely. I appreciated the fact that they accommodated my request for a quiet space as I had two 90 year olds eating with us. The food was delicious and arrived hot and served beautifully. The waiter was also very professional.”
“The management at Montano’s is amazing. When we arrived my son walked past one of the fridge doors that holds the alcohol and got slammed in the eye. We had to rush him to urgent care since he was bleeding pretty bad and needed stitches. The manager was very apologetic. Not only was he willing to pay our medical bill, but also invited us back after our son got stitched up for a free meal. The food was great, service amazing and we will definitely be back.”
“Nawab has amazing Indian food… everything is perfectly prepared with care and attention. The service is always excellent, they treat you like family and go above and beyond to make sure you leave full and happy. I will go for lunch with a friend or a romantic date… they make every occasion feel special.”
“This place is perfect for a big dinner party or a romantic celebration. I have never left hungry or disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing - make sure you try the Escargot!”
“We adore Rockfish and are so thankful to have them in the Village!! Amazing food, cocktails, and service every time!”
“The place is up to date with what's good for you health wise. All fresh! Juice and smoothies are very tasty and the staff is very friendly! We'll definitely be back!”
“The steak seasoning can be a bit spicy. I even asked to be half the seasoning, and I got the seasoning all on one side and not the other. It was still a bit spicy.
Waitress was good. Not a long wait this time.”
“The establishment inside is beautiful! Staff is very attentive and pleasant. Food was amazing definitely will be back again”
“went for my son bday because he loves that they throw the shrimp and was his requests. they were busy which is understandable for a Saturday..half of our party never got asked about salads ..we had to remind the waitress about our drinks more than once and to top it off the wiring for the lights infer the table had been spliced and my little boy was shocked from it...once making them aware I got the excuse they were busy!! this was the wires that he was shocked from.. very disappointment”
“Beef Nigimaki and Orange peel Shrimp were excellent and so was the service. Thanks Shirley”
“Beautiful winery and worth the windy mountain drive. Taste all the wine they have for $12 plus get a glass! I got a bottle of Cornucopia it was so good. I highly recommend grabbing a charcuterie to go from Well Hung Vineyards and heading up to this gorgeous spot. The wine is delicious and they have indoor and outdoor seating both with amazing views of the mountains and Roanoke.”
“Was our first time! Pretty cool place!! Not happy about the waited to get our food but once we got it it was worth it!! Amazing burger awesome fries!”
“Bridget, our waitress was amazing! She was very attentive and on top of everything. This woman deserves a raise for her hard work!!”
“We Absolutely Love coming to Smokey Bones. It's Absolutely Amazing. We Love our waitress Daphne, she's AWESOME. Love her Bubbly, Fiery personality! She's the BOMB! She even took a picture with one of my sons ?”
“We were greeted and seated by Ness within 30 seconds of arriving. Her service and hospitality was welcoming and friendly. She was able to answer our questions and make recommendations. Two of us shared the spiced shrimp (which isn't spicy) and snow crab legs for two. It was cooked just right and was so delish! I can't wait to go back and order this again. Our bill for this and two sodas was less than $50 which, for the quality & quantity, is an amazing price.”
“Elijah was obviously new but very sweet and attentive. Food was delicious. One of my favorite views of Roanoke”
“I've lived all over and the only other place I had sushi this good was Hawaii. The quality is exceptional. We always order the boat and the cuts are always melt-in-your-mouth. Whenever I order omakase, I'm never disappointed. Even my 20-something sons recognize the superior quality and they don't have terribly discerning palates. They also love the serene and peaceful atmosphere. Even when multiple tables are seated, it retains a quiet ambience. Ben Gui is a reason to live in Roanoke. It's pure pleasure for the senses on all levels and not something I ever expected to find when returning to my home region, southern Appalachia.”
“This is got to be one of the biggest burgers I have ever eaten it was really good I would really recommend it the double was enormous but the triple is out of this world, it's a little pricey but well wearth it”
“It's not a bad place to eat. It's not overly expensive so a couple can eat for 25 or $30 for the two of you. They do have discounts on drinks during happy hour”
“Wayne was my server and he was excellent. I had the meatloaf with the mashed potatoes and onions. It was delicious and I had the sweet potatoes which is amazingly big. Very tasty and I also had the shrimp bites with the sauce on the side. Definitely a great place to eat.”

“Great food. The waitress was so very friendly, attentive and went beyond to make our experience a pleasant one. Food is always served hot and seasoned perfectly 10 out of 10 times. Thank you, First Watch— you know how to do it right— from front door welcome, thru hot servings and GREAT SERVICE. We will be back!!”
“I've been eating at Crown's Chicken for years. As an honest review I will say I do not like the chicken. As others have comnented, it has a tough texture and not a whole lot of flavor. I'm assuming it's under heat lamps for aby amount of time. However, the double cheeseburger is absolute fire. The Gyro is really good too. The fries are always hot and unsalted (though typically the drive through guy asks if I want salt + ketchup on the side. The staff is nice although I really only have interacted with the drive through operator. It's been a pleasant experience. The prices are very competitive. Id rather spend my money here than a national fast food chain.”
“went here for the first time and it was GREAT! you get tons of food for the price and the staff is fantastic!! I got the hibachi burrito, and it was so good. My daughter got the rice and lo mien mix with chicken and loved it. Will definitely be going back!!! I highly recommend you try this place”

“This restaurant is one of our favorites and we visit frequently. The food is always good and the staff are always kind and attentive. The restaurant is also always clean and presentable, which we appreciate! Jess (the manager) is always so kind and is a pleasure to talk with. She made our family feel super special during lunch today and we really appreciate her kindness. Every time she is there she always has a smile and genuinely nice attitude. Thank you, Jess, and the rest of the Cheddar’s staff for always giving us a great experience when we dine in!”

“The service was great, and the place was really chill. The food had its moments.. In my opinion, more seasoning would go a long way. The food we ordered was a wide range, but all of it seemed to be taken down a notch rather than elevated. For the price point, we'd go elsewhere before eating here again.”
“Excellent Sunday brunch buffet! Highly disappointed that when i called ahead of time to ask if they had a dessert table, was told No. We had a party of 10 for a birthday celebration, so I brought a cake. When it was time to have our cake, i was told it would be a $1.00 a plate charge to have a dessert plate. Extremely turned off about that. Ruined our birthday celebration. Idk? Is this a thing? Never ever have heard of a plate fee.”
