FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is assigned to the bureau's Fringe Division, in which she investigates unusual crimes and occurrences. Assisting Olivia in her investigations are once-institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop, his jack-of-all-trades son, Peter, and FBI Junior Agent Astrid Farnsworth. As the team investigates cases of science gone awry, they discover connections to their own past and to a parallel universe. As the team solves cases in these interconnected worlds, new discoveries and complications continue to arise.

Korra N Gripping, stunning, and impeccably acted, Fringe S1 is the start of a new "mystery box" series in the tradition of LOST, complete with a wild and expansive mythology. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/23/24 Full Review Test T I watched some of this on DVD recently. It's not really my kind of show, but it seemed like it was a high quality production with a decent budget. On dvd there are no adverts to get in the way, and each long running episode plays almost like a feature film, and is very absorbing. Recommended if you like this kind of sci-fi. It's hard to imagine that J.J. Abrams and Alex Kurtzman would then go on to produce considerably worse movies and television, this being their magnus opus. To think it's an 00s copy of the X-Files would be a severe mistake. There is far more going on in the episodes than meets the eye and even a 2nd viewing provides new inside.
