Critics Consensus

Obliterated pulls out all the stops to be as memorable a binge as a bar crawl, but the hangover sets in quickly for this overly busy series.

Leila Latif Guardian The pace is so excruciating and the show so repetitive that by the third hour, nothing would seem more heroic than someone detonating the bomb and putting us all out of our misery. Rated: 1/5 Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Anita Singh Daily Telegraph (UK) I did not think it was possible to cross The Hangover with the combined oeuvre of Steven Seagal, but here we are. Rated: 1/5 Dec 1, 2023 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com Proudly raunchy in a way that recalls Amazon’s The Boys, this series from the creative team behind Cobra Kai merits a toast, or in the spirit of the show, five or six of them. Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Sam Stone CBR Ultimately, Obliterated feels like a decent enough premise that just couldn't quite hit the target... Dec 18, 2023 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network This is far from high art, but Obliterated is a lot of fun with some creative kills and witty one-liners that would have been right at home coming from Arnold or Sly. Rated: 7/10 Dec 7, 2023 Full Review Juan Pablo Russo EscribiendoCine Despite a few fun moments, the series can not escape the feeling that it was conceived by adolescents amid a hormonal peak. Ripper J Obliterated was actually a decent show, especially by modern “entertainment” standards. Most of the characters are generic, but the writing is funny (in a Porky’s meets Airplane kind of way) and there is the occasional character twist. The plot is predictable with twists too, but the purpose of the show is humor, which they nail repeatedly. This show is more entertaining than most of what’s on these days. That it was canceled is awry. They’ll give garbage shows like Rings of Poop multiple seasons, but something entertaining gets canceled. Sadly, we are suffering through the dark ages of “entertainment.” Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review J C This show is good. Definitely needed another season. I understand why it wouldn’t get promotion due to it being Rated MA but it definitely has its audience. The action is A list from the gun fights to the hand to hand combat, The comedy is A list, plot of the story was good, and the cast was amazing. Season 2 me please Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Michael C This show is so good I need another season but since they canceled it we not they really need to be fired over at netflix for canceling these shows when they don't promote these shows like makes no sense whatsoever anyways love this series we need more!!! Are the critics really critics anymore when they have no taste whatsoever!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Joseph H Whenever I watch this series, I can’t help but think, what the heck is going on here? It’s just a mess! The writing is awful, there’s way too much unnecessary drugs, male, female body and rookie sex, and the acting is just ridiculous. The characters don’t even act like mature adults! It feels like something that only teenage boys and girls would enjoy. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/19/24 Full Review David S Literally, and I don't use that word lightly, the worst thing I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and just go outside and light yourself on fire. It will be less painful than sitting through this obnoxious piece of drizzle. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review C G If you watch this show as entertainment, you probably won't be disappointed. If you are looking for realism, keep scrolling. I enjoyed it for what it was. Characters are likeable and there were a few laugh out loud moments for me. Think "24" meets "The Hangover". Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
