Margaret L. Rusch Edwards was born November 19,1929 to Ernst Nuernberger and Carla Herbst Nuernberger in their family home in Comfort, TX. She passed away at the Comfort Nursing Home January 7, 2025, at the age of 95. She lived independently in her home until the age of 94.
She completed 8th grade at Cypress Creek School and received her High School Diploma at Comfort High School.
She married LeRoy Rusch on June 12, 1949. They had two children, Thomas L. Rusch and Mary M. Thompson, both of Comfort, Texas. Margaret and LeRoy worked together on their dairy farm for many years milking cows’ early morning and late afternoon. After leaving the dairy business they began raising beef cattle. She then worked part time at Farm Bureau Insurance and then ASCS Farm Services Office. Margart always said they had a” Million Dollar View” as their home was built on the most beautiful spot in the Hill Country. Margaret’s most loved job was being a wife, homemaker and mother. LeRoy preceded her in death in 1987.
She later married Oris Edwards. Oris owned the Meat Market on High Street in Comfort. They lived in Comfort for 7 years prior to his passing in1999.
Margaret loved traveling, cruises, site seeing and spending time with her friends playing Dominoes, Spades and her favorite card game of Bridge.
She is survived by her son Tom Rusch, wife Carolyn and daughter Mary Thompson. She had 5 step grandchildren. Martin Moreno of Delaware, Ohio. Margo Kornemann of New Orleans, LA. Cristy Bolton of Shawnee, KS. Jeremy Lee of Weimar TX. Jerret Lee of Weimar, TX. And 7 great grandchildren.
