This is a mouthpiece tip opening chart for modern and vintage tenor saxophone mouthpieces.

Please note that tip openings vary greatly even among the same size for most manufacturers. Inconsistencies in tip sizing are particularly evident in vintage mouthpieces. This is due to the heating and cooling endured by the mouthpiece when the facing is first applied. Plastic is much more heat sensitive than other materials. Similar changes occur in hard rubber mouthpiece, though to a lesser extent. Metal mouthpieces are the most consistent.
