SCOT TURNER ISSUES STATEMENT URGING REPUBLICAN PARTY UNITY HEADING INTO FINAL WEEKEND OF HD 21 SPECIAL ELECTION
Holly Springs, January 3, 2013 Republican candidate Scot Turner issued the following statement today regarding the HD 21 Special Election on January 8th: I commend my two Republican opponents for stepping up and making it known that they wish to serve our community. Their desire and passion is admirable. However, in this special election when Republicans are competing against one another in such a fashion, I urge them to unite behind my campaign and win this race for conservative values. To date, weve contacted 4,000 households directly, not including any direct mail or paid advertising. Polling data is showing that our campaign has a commanding lead, and we are one short step away from clinching an outright victory without a runoff. This coming weekend alone our campaign will double the number of households we have visited. Democrats are trying to steal a seat that they wouldnt normally have the opportunity to compete for going into the final weekend of this special election. The Georgia Democratic Party has sent out an email blast to its entire statewide network encouraging members to contribute financially and volunteer for the democrat oppositions campaign. If this race goes to a runoff, the likelihood that the Democratic Political machine will come to Cherokee County en masse becomes a real possibility. Cherokee County doesnt need this; the time to unite is now. Once again, I commend my Republican colleagues and urge them to support conservative values for Cherokee County over personal political ambition. Lets unite to keep liberal special interests out of Cherokee County. Turners public endorsements in this race include: Senator Barry Loudermilk, and Representative-elect Michael Caldwell, Cherokee GOP Chairman Bob Rugg, former chairman Jeff Duncan, Helmut and Barbara Baxter, Cindy Castello, Rick Davies, Danny and Regina Davis, John Marinko, COL. Lawrence Mrozinski [Ret.] USA, Diane Rugg, Allen Trent, Jeff Whitmire. ###
Scot has served as a precinct chair and a member of the Board of Directors for the Cherokee County Republican Party, as a Sergeantat-Arms for both the Sixth District and State GOP Conventions, established the social media efforts for the Canton Tea Party Patriots. He is currently the Chairman of the Cherokee County Young Republicans. In these positions, Scot has worked tirelessly to honor the conservative values instilled in him by his life experiences as well the traditional principles encouraged by Watermarke Community Church where he and his family are active congregants. Scot lives in Holly Springs with his wife of 14 years, Kelly, their two children, two cats, and an ever-lucky dog named Jack.
