Each week they are given an assignment that includes Scripture reading and questions related to the Scripture. During each meeting the students also exchange prayer requests and go through spiritual accountability questions. At the conclusion of the study they go on a weekend adventure retreat that they have been planning throughout the study.

You may think you can condemn such

people, but you are just as bad, and you have

Adventure Team no excuse! When you say they are wicked
//03.22.09-03.28.09// and should be punished, you are condemning
yourself, for you who judge others do these
very same things. (Romans 2:1)
1. Read 1 Corinthians 9:1-27 (focus on verses 22-27)
Background: Apparently Paul has been getting criticized for some of his actions from the Corinthians. It
seems like he’s been eating meat from the pagan temple (see chapter 8), drinking wine, and he has received
a financial gift from someone - so he hasn’t had to work and can focus solely on the Gospel. Paul uses this
chapter to rebuke the Corinthians for their criticism and reminds them of his rights in Christ and how
passionately he preaches the Gospel.

2. Have you ever been criticized? How so? How did it make you feel? Have you
been criticizing anyone lately? Read Romans 2:1, what does it say concerning
criticism and judgment?

3. Paul sums up this chapter by emphasizing the importance of spiritual

discipline. How would you describe your spiritual discipline? (a) I haven’t found
the gym; (b) I’m not sure I’m ready to make the sacrifices; (c) I’m ready, I just
need some guidance; (d) I’ve tried running the race, but I’m tired; (e) I’m
running the race and I’m pumped.

4. What are some things you can start doing to get more spiritually disciplined
and deepen your relationship with Christ?
