    Guidelines
    For FMA 21-29 FMIA should be = 68 For FMA > 30 FMIA should be = 65 For FMA < 20 IMPA should not exceed 92

    Occlusal plane

    A = Patients FMIA B = Desired FMIA C = Difference between two lines measured at occlusal plane C is multiplied by 2 for arch length discrepancy calculation on both side

    However instead of measurement at occlusal plane between two lines , the actual FMIA was subtracted from proposed FMIA and this difference was multiplied by a constant (0.8) to give difference in millimeters.
