This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 69 Industrial valves (Secretariat: France). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Armaturen (Valves Standards Committee), Technical Committee Grundnormen. Amendments DIN 3230-1 and DIN 3230-2, April 1974 editions, and DIN 3230-3, April 1982 edition, have been superseded by the specifications of EN 12266-1. Previous editions DIN 3230: 1953-02, DIN 3230-1: 1974-04; DIN 3230-2: 1974-04; DIN 3230-3: 1975-03, 1982-04.

This European Standard was approved by CEN on 2002-12-27.
