MATERIALS:
... ... ... 1 1 ... 1 1 Cords* U connectors Various beads Scissors Flat nose pliers Bead Fix glue Cord Beading techniques Extension chain (optional)

Preparation:
1-Choose the type and size of cord* you want to work with. Cut two strands of 120cm long each (for a bracelet), then fold up the cords to get a length of 30cm. 2-Choose your beads based on the size of the cord you have chosen. Dont forget to take into account that 2 cords have to go through one bead.

*The technique illustrated here can be done with cotton wax cord, leather or hemp cord as well as rat tail cord. If the end of the cord tends to unravel and fray, dip it in BeadFix glue, let dry, and the threads will be fixed together.

Stringing:
3-Insert the folded part made in step 1 into a U connector. If needed, refer to the Cord Technique guide. The two shorter cords will be used as support for knots and beads. It is important to maintain a firm tension on these two cords in order to obtain even knots. 4-Form the first knot with the long cords by inserting them over and under the shorter supporting cords.

Cross each cord in the loop formed with the opposite cord.

5-To make the macram f lat knot (as shown in this step), always cross the same color on top, alternating from left to right.

6-Make 10 knots, and then insert a bead in the supporting cords. To determine how many knots you made, just count the small bumps created by the knots.

For the macram twisted knot, alternate the colors on top always on the same side.

7-Make 10 other knots and insert in a new bead. If you want more fantasy between the sections, you can alternate the color of the cord that is on top.

Finishing:

8-Repeat steps 4 to 7 until you reach the desired length. Once you have reached that length, cut off all cords 1 cm away from the last knot, then insert another U connector. Finish up by inserting 2 single or double rings, a clasp and an extension chain of your choice.
