I hope everyone had a wonderful week so far. Here are some things that went on this week:
Narica went to the park Conteh played football
Shared Reading We had loved learning about and reading Dr. Seuss during shared reading this week. The children love all his funny rhyming words, interesting illustrations, and great stories. Many of his books were added to our reading center this week and it was amazing to see all your precious children in there reading his books. On Friday, we will create Ooblek and discuss its solid and liquid properties. We read: The Foot Book The Cat in the Hat The Cat in the Hat Comes Back Green Eggs and Ham The Sneetches Bartholomew and the Ooblek
Math We are continuing to work on addition and subtraction of numbers and decomposing numbers up to 10. We also completed our March calendar where we really focused on making sure every number we wrote was facing the correct way and in the correct order.
Reminders and FYI...
Your child is coming home with their February journal. Please sit down with your child and celebrate all their hard work. Return the journal no later than March 14. Thank you so much!!! As of this Friday, there are 50 days until the end of kindergarten! I cannot believe how this year has flown by. Please continue to encourage your child to finish the year strong with positive behavior and attendance (unless sick of course). I am very excited about our upcoming trip to the movies to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Currently, the movie times are posted as such that we can attend the 5:00 viewing. I will be there around 4:30 but if you can have your child at the movies by 4:45. We will walk into the theater at that time. MARK YOUR CALENDAR:

Theme This week we began learning about the rainforests of Africa. The children were amazed to see so many trees in one place and absolutely loved seeing the many animals one would see there. We will continue to discuss our rainforest topic next week.
