COVER LETTER
Dear Peel Region District School Board,
I recently came across your job posting for a Teaching Assistant position in your agency on your website. I am very interested in this position and feel as though I could be a great asset to your team dynamic. With extensive knowledge in child development, special needs, the IPRC process and Individual Education Plans, I believe I would contribute a great deal of knowledge to your Special Needs team. With my education in the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Draft, I have the ability to plan and implement activities directed towards a diverse range of abilities while meeting the documents required fields and expectations. My confidence in adapting and modifying materials to enhance childrens performance allows me to be comfortable and a devoted educator who is able to work with mild to severe needs in terms of all areas of development. Past experience in a wellknown inclusion centre has allowed me to become familiar with children with severe physical and medical needs, responding to many medical interventions; this experience may be an asset to your team in regards to working with those who have high physical demands. Previous work experience speaks to my ability to manage a wide range of behavioural issues and my knowledge of the referral process for specific needs is also extensive. As an individual I feel as though I am very open, easy to approach and compassionate about my professional role. Attending to childrens needs and physical demands gives me the sense of gratification and allows me to do what I am passionate about. As an accommodated learner, I am able to adapt many situations to allow me to see insight from other perspectives. This is a great asset to have when working in a team dynamic as it is important to be open and accommodating to everyones needs, even towards working on a goal in and functioning as a team. Becoming a member of your team that respects the right to education, diversity and equity while fostering an environment that allows children to learn through play, creativity and expression is a goal of mine. The focus of academics in terms of literacy and mathematics is also a strength I hold as past student placement experiences have allowed me to be a part of many school board settings providing a great deal of insight in terms of creating a positive school environment. I look forward to a response in regards to my application for your Teaching Assistant position within the Peel Region District School Board and would like to thank you in advance for the opportunity to become a member of your team. Sincerely,
Camille Brown
