Write to your MP to Stop the Harper Sales Tax!

You are about to become victim to the largest tax hike in our history. Stephen Harper has been
peddling the HST tax hike to all of the provinces, and Ontario Liberals have fallen for it. But you know
how democracy works. If federal Conservative MPs from Ontario can be made to stand up for their
constituents, the HST can be stopped dead in its tracks at the federal level and regardless of what
Dalton McGuinty thinks. It’s time for us to send letters and start phoning our Conservative MPs to let
them know how we feel. We need to demand NOW to stop the HST on behalf Ontario families and
support their colleague John Rafferty’s M-462 which would end the $4.3 billion federal bribe that is
making the HST happen.

I am writing you to oppose the implementation of a Harmonized Sales Tax in the province of Ontario. I strongly
oppose this tax because

1. A shaky recovery from the worst recession in generations is the wrong time to raise taxes.
2. Canadians are already struggling. Shifting more taxes onto families is the wrong way to help them and
the economy.
3. Many goods and services that were NOT taxed under the P.S.T, will be taxed under the H.S.T. This
means price hikes for gasoline, utilities, internet bills and a vast range of other goods and services.

For these reasons, I ask you to vote against any legislation that would impose this in law and to support motion
M-462, which cancels the 4.3 billion dollar federal pay-off to Ontario to implement this tax hike.

The majority of Ontarians stand firm against the H.S.T. Please respect the wishes of Ontarians.
