Ashida Relay testing unit - Though this unit is shown in diagram any other
current injector can be used, only it should have provision of interlock with
timer. The VA burden of relay is less than 1VA. The injector must be capable
of sourcing this load. Ashida relay testing unit is designed to give maximum
number of functional units in single cabinet it has all necessary functions for
relay testing i.e. Auxiliary Power Supply, Variable Current Source up to
100Amp. Variable Voltage Source, Timer interval Meter up to 1ms resolution
etc.
Auxiliary Supply - The relay is available for two different types of Auxiliary
supply.
1. For 18V DC to 52V DC.
2. For 77V DC to 250V DC.
Check the relay rated auxiliary voltage on front plate and connect suitable DC
supply or stationed battery supply to relay appropriate terminals.
After connecting auxiliary supply switch on the Power supply and the check
the Power ON indication provided on relay front. The relay will display power
on messages as shown in section 10.0 “getting started”
18.4 HF Test :
1. Set Phase trip % setting = 200, Phase TMS setting = x1.00 and HF % =
200 (Refer: 12.0).
2. Start increasing the current using variac when it crosses HF % settings
relay gives trip signal instantaneously and the timer will stop.

5. Repeat the procedure for different settings as per test report.
The above procedure is given for R Phase. Repeat the same procedure for B
Phase using B CT and EF using EF CT terminals.
