Selected by the school board as a member of National Honor Society based on GPA, service,
leadership, and teacher recommendation. As elected Historian, I contributed in planning the annual
tree-planting program, the Christmas spirit week and also offered my services as a tutor.
Voted by peers to be Social Vice President and Secretary of Student Association. As Social Vice
President, I organized and oversaw the banquets and various other events that SA planned. I
supervised the caterers and entertainers for our events & I also carried out the associations ideas.
Elected by my senior class as Class Historian. As a class officer, I am on a team of students who
organize and governed our class events and duties.
Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, I traveled with other youth on a Mission Trip to
Mississippi. We assisted residents of Mississippi in collecting trash and debris from their homes and
neighborhoods. We also aided two families with the rebuilding of their homes.
For two weeks my senior year of high school I went on a Mission Trip to Pucallpa, Peru. While I was
there, I assisted others in maintenance on the buildings. I also traveled on a boat to administer
medical care to nearby towns and villages.
During the summers I have assisted my church by being a group leader for Vacation Bible School. I
was responsible for about 5-8 children every night for a week. I supervised them during games and
activities, explained the Bible lesson to them, and maintained safety for everyone in our group at all
times.
My senior year, I was chosen by the Yearbook staff to be the Yearbook Editor. As editor, I oversaw
all of the deadlines, determined a layout, trained in other members of yearbook, and also was the
