Think about what feature of


your hand you want to show. Not all possible sequences are shown.
Slam bidding is completely ignored - typically, this is investigated through
bidding Blackwood, or forcing to game and then cue-bidding.

Flowchart - Opener

Key: 2X = 2C/D/H/S. 5cds = 5 cards/5 card suit. Bal = balanced (no voids/singletons,
at most 1 doubleton). GF = game forcing. F1 = forcing for 1 round P = partner.

Open longest suit at 1-level*. Wait for response. With 15-17,


bid lowest NT bid available. With 18-19, jump to next NT
bid. (NB If you have support for partner, i.e. an 8-card fit, bid
that instead - jump a level for 15-17, bid game with 18-19).
