Autopsy Report

Anna Garcia was found dead in her home after her neighbor reported she didn't answer her phone. An autopsy was performed. Fingerprints found at the scene matched Anna's ex-husband, Alex. Blood found was type B, matching Anna and Alex. Shoe prints matched Anna's. Hair found also matched Anna's. Unknown substances turned out to be aspirin. Blood spatter analysis indicated the blood fell from around 60cm. DNA analysis confirmed the DNA at the scene was Anna's. The conclusion was that Anna likely died of natural or accidental causes, as clues like aspirin around her and wearing a sweater on a hot day indicated she may have been in pain.

Autopsy Report
Introduction of Case:
Anna Garcia, found dead in her house at the age of 38. Anna was found at 9:45 am
lying facing down in her main hallway. Her neighbor Doug Greene reported that he hadnt
seen her that day, and she wouldnt answer her phone. Someone also reported that they
had seen Annas Ex-Husband and his new wife Erica the night before. The last person seen
with Anna was her best friend Lucy who she had been in argument with because of the
bakery the owned. All of the above, Doug who had been in a relationship with her, Alex her
ex-husband, Erica Alexs new wife and Lucy her friend.

Summary of the findings:

Fingerprints
There were fingerprints found on a table that had been flipped at the scene. After
studying the fingerprints we found out that the fingerprints belonged to Alex. All of the
minutiae on Alexs fingerprint matched the ones at the scene.
Blood Type
There was also blood and blood droplets found at the crime scene. One we ran
some DNA tests we found that the blood belonged to either Alex or Anna. We couldnt
determine who it belonged to exactly because the blood at the scene was type B and so
was Annas and Alexs.
Shoe Print Analysis
When walking into the scene one of the first things that stood out, were the shoe
prints. When looking at different shoes from the suspects, we determined the shoe prints
were Annas. All the cracks and holes where the dirt could get into matched the stains of
the shoe print.

Hair Analysis
A couple strands of hair were left on the floor at the crime scene, not many but one
was enough to test. When the hair from the crime scene was compared to Annas under a
microscope they looked the same. The medulla from Annas hair looked exactly like the
medulla of the hair found at the scene.
Unknown Substance
An unknown substance was also found at the crime scene in a shape of pills. We
studied these pills and found out they were harmless when taken in moderation. These
pills turned out to be Acetylsalicylic Acid also known as Aspirin. This means Anna might
have been in some sort of pain and decided to take some pills but instead she passed out.
Blood Spatter
Like mentioned above, there were also some blood droplets found at the crime
scene near where Anna was found dead. After dropping some blood from different heights
we determined that the blood most likely fell from like 60 centimeters. This means the
blood splattered from place on her body in the middle.
DNA Analysis
Lastly, the DNA found at the crime scene was Anna Garcias. We conducted a gel
electrophoresis and all of the bars from Annas DNA matched the bars of the DNA at the
crime scene. When we graphed them all of the bars from the other suspects were way off.
Problems:
During the investigation of the Anna Garcia crime there was one main problem. The
blood found at the crime scene belonged to Anna and to Alex. So unless we found a major
wound on either Anna or Alex we cant know who exactly it belongs to. It could have been
that Anna got injured or that Alex hurt himself in some kind of way while he was at the
crime scene.
Conclusion:
I believe that Anna Garcia died for natural/accidental reasons. I think Anna might
have had some sort of really bad disease because of all the clues we found. First of all she
was wearing a sweater when she went outside although it was really hot. Second, when she
was found dead there was aspirin around her which leads me to believe she was in some
sort of pain at the time of her death.
The three biomedical science professionals were a toxicologist, a crime scene
investigator (CSI) and a DNA analysist. The first one out of the three to get to the scene
would have been the Crime Scene Investigator. He or she would have looked around the

house and examined any weapons, footprints, fingerprints etc. Next the pills found at the
crime scene would have been sent to the toxicologist. The toxicologist would be the one
who wouldve tested the pills to determine if they were drugs. Lastly, the DNA analysist
would have been the one to test the blood found at the scene.
