Subcutaneous Injection Procedure

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Injecting medication under the skin
A. PREPARATION
1. Preparation Clients
- Check the client Nursing planning (dose, client name, medication, time of
-

execution, the site of injection)


Assess history of allergy and prepare clients
Clients are given an explanation of the procedures to be performed

2. Preparation Tool
- Seteril with drug injection syringes in place already prepared

Cotton alcohol 70%


Stationery
Crooked
Card drugs and etiquette
Gloves if necessary

B. IMPLEMENTATION
1. Nurses hand washing

2. Identify the client, prepare the client and explain the procedure to be performed
and post sampiran
3. If you need to use gloves when there are clients who suffer from infectious
diseases

4. Clean / disinfect the injection site with alcohol with circular techniques or from
top to bottom once remove

5. Disposing of alcohol into a twisted cotton


6. Inserting the needle at an angle of 45-90 O

7. Perform aspiration
8. Incorporate drug slowly - land
9. Repeal needle
10. Tools cleared and see the reaction to the drug to the client
11. Nurses hand washing
12. Record the action taken

C. EVALUATION
Note the drug dosage, drug name, the name of the client in accordance with the orders
of the doctor and also perhatikian client's response to the drug
D. DOCUMENTATION

Noted the action taken (execution time, the results of action, reaction / client's
response to the drug, the nurse who did) on nursing notes
