This looks at the prominent figures that made up Elizabeths Privy Council and their
ability to manipulate her during her reign, because of the close relationships she had with some
of the members. Individuals such as William Cecil (Lord Burghley), The Earl of Essex, and the
impact of the earl of Leicesters death in 1588 and the void that it created are explored. Power
struggles that emerged between Essex and Robert Cecil, Burghleys son, for control of the Privy
Council and favor from Queen Elizabeth are looked into as well. Overall, the people closest to
Queen Elizabeth are examined.

In this letter, Queen Elizabeth I wrote the petition of her not to marry a foreigner, so they
wont be able to lay claim to her crown, also from 1559, she wrote a reply to some English
Bishops who wanted to continue Mary's pro-Catholic policies, she revealed how thorough she
was with her humanistic education,etc.

Few believed her being a woman can help the country be in a better position. Elizabeth
was known for being brave, resourceful, charismatic, clever and extraordinarily cultured; a
musician, linguist and poet. She also paved the way for religious settlement. No woman had a
successful ruling of the empire before Elizabeth and no one after probably will.

This website talks about Queen Elizabeth I being the greatest monarch in English History.
She ruled England for nearly half a decade, many people doubted her position for ruling as a
female by herself. Since she was a young girl, Elizabeth had always been seen as a serious,
young woman, so she wasn't afraid to demonstrate her own writ and learnings. She preserved
peace and stability for England; she was known for her genuine love which was legendary.

Religion played a major role in how it affected Elizabeth, politics, and the Parliament.
The queen made sure to acknowledge the Pope as an important religious leader. She became
locked in a power struggle to maintain her power, while still trying to balance out the supremacy
religion had over England. Religion and politics went hand in hand.

This article goes into a lot of depth about the war with Spain during Elizabeths reign. It
informs the reader about the different challenges faced during this period. Readers were
informed on how money was drained for the war, how Elizabeth desired peace during war, the
Spanish Armada, betrayal, and many other interesting things about this time period of her rule.
Leaders from different countries are also mentioned and how they influenced the queen.

This article talk how long it took Elizabeth to succeed the throne and how she had many
doubters. However, Elizabeth faced many challenges, She faced religious challenges, but she
settled it by saying there's only one Jesus Christ. Also, she got a lot of invasion threats from
Spain through Ireland, and from France through Scotland. The nation also suffered from high

prices and severe economic depression. Overall, Elizabeth's nation had problems just like any
other nation however, decisive leadership brought successes during a period of great danger both
at home and abroad.
