Trademark

Trademarks identify the source and origin of particular products and services. They can consist of words, logos, slogans, designs, or sounds. The objectives of trademark registration and protection are to prevent fraudulent uses that could confuse consumers and identify the source of goods and services. To qualify for registration, a trademark must differentiate one business from another and not be too similar to existing trademarks. The Indian Trademark Act of 1999 outlines the registration procedure and provides statutory protection to trademark owners.
