早上好,小姐。我叫王大伟。我要找人力资源部海外科的陈经理。我
是来应聘工作的。
Good morning, Miss. My name is Wang Dawei. I’d like to
see Manager Chen of the Overseas Section at the Human Resources
Department. I’m here for a job interview.

Receptionist: Chén jīnglǐ zhèngzài bàngōngshì děng nín. Qǐng gē


n wǒ lái.
陈经理正在办公室等您。请跟我来。
Manager Chen is waiting for you in his office. Please
follow me.

Receptionist: Chén jīnglǐ, zhè wèi shì lái yìngpìn de Wáng xiā
nsheng. Wáng xiānsheng, zhè wèi shì rénlì zīyuánbù hǎiwàikē de
Chén jīnglǐ.
陈经理,这位是来应聘的王先生。王先生,这位是人力资源部
海外科的陈经理。
Manager Chen, this is Mr. Wang who is here for a job
interview. Mr. Wang, this is Manager Chen of the Overseas Section at
the Human Resources Department.

How do you do, Mr. Wang. I’m glad to meet you, too.
I’ve read the CV you sent me. May I first ask you a few questions ?

Wang: Dāngrán kěyǐ.

Of course you may.

Chen: Nǐ wèi shénme yào shēnqǐng zhè fèn gōngzuò ? Nǐ yǒu hǎiw
ài gōngzuò jīngyàn ma ?
你为什么要申请这份工作?你有海外工作经验吗?
Why did you apply for this position ? Do you have
overseas work experience ?
Wang: Yīnwèi wǒ de zhuānyè shì guójì guǎnlǐ hé guójì shāngmào,
ěrqiě wǒ yě yǒu liǎng nián hǎiwài gōngzuò de jīngyàn, suǒyǐ wǒ juéde
wǒ néng shèngrèn zhè fèn gōngzuò.
因为我的专业是国际管理和国际商贸,而且我也有两年海外工作的经验,
所以我觉得我能胜任这份工作。
Because my major is international management and
international business and trade, and I also have two years
experience working overseas, therefore I feel I’m qualified for this
position.

Chen: Wǒmen zài Zhōngguó, Yuènán, Hánguó hé Tàiguó dōu yǒu wà


ipài gùyuán. Qǐngwèn, nǐ zuì xǐhuan zài nǎ ge guójiā gōngzuò ?
我们在中国、越南、韩国和泰国都有外派雇员。请问,你最喜欢在哪个
国家工作?
We have expatriates in China, Vietnam, Korea and Thailand.
May I ask, which country do you want to work in most ?

Can you speak Chinese ?

Wang: Wǒ shàng dàxué de shíhou xué le sì nián Zhōngwén, zài guó


jì guǎnlǐ yánjiūshēngyuàn xué le yì nián shāngwù Hànyǔ. Wǒ de Hà
nyǔ pǔtōnghuà hěn liúlì.
我上大学的时候学了四年中文,在国际管理研究生院学了一年商务汉
语。我的汉语普通话很流利。
I studied Chinese for four years while I was an
undergraduate at university, and I also studied business Chinese for
one year while I was a graduate student at Graduate School of Master
of International Management. I speak fluent Chinese Putonghua.

Chen: Nà tài hǎo le ! Wǒmen jiù xūyào dǒng Zhōngwén de wàipài g


ùyuán. Gǎnxiè nǐ lái yìngpìn hé miàntán. Xià ge xīngqī wǒ
men gěi nǐ dáfù.
那太好了!我们就需要懂中文的外派雇员。感谢你来应聘和面谈。下个
星期我们给你答复。
That’s great ! We need expatriates who understand Chinese.
Thank you very much for coming over for this interview. We’ll reply

Let me introduce you, this is Mr. Wang Dawei, trade
negotiation representative of our IBM Beijing Branch. Mr. Wang, this
is your assistant, Miss. Wu.

May I ask, have your wife and children also come along ?

Wáng: Shì de, tāmen shì zuótiān gēn wǒ yìqǐ lái de.
是的,他们是昨天跟我一起来的。
Yes, they all came with me yesterday.

Wú: Wáng xiānsheng, nín jiāli yǒu jǐ kǒu rén ?


王先生,您家里有几口人?
Mr. Wang, how many people are there in your family ?

Wáng: Wǒ jiāli yǒu sì kǒu rén, yǒu wǒ tàitai, liǎng ge háizi gēn wǒ.
我家里有四口人,有我太太、两个孩子跟我。
There are four people in my family. They are my wife, two
children and me.

Wú: Háizi duō dà le ? Shì nánhái háishì nǚhái ?


孩子多大了?是男孩还是女孩?
How old are your children ? Are they boys or girls ?

Wáng: Lǎo dà shì nánhái, jīnnián shí suì; lǎo èr shì nǚhái, jīnnián bā
suì.
老大是男孩,今年十岁;老二是女孩,今年八岁。
The eldest is a boy, he is ten years old this year; the second
child is a girl, she is eight years old this year.

Wú: Tāmen liǎ kěyǐ zài Běijīng Guójì Xuéxiào shàng xué. Tīngshuō
Bēijīng Guójì Xuéxiào hěn yǒumíng.
他们俩可以在北京国际学校上学。听说北京国际学校很有名。
They both can go to Beijing International School in Beijing. I
heard the Beijing International School is very famous.

Wáng: Shì a. Shuō shíhuà, wǒ jiùshì yīnwèi zhè suǒ xuéxiào cái lái
Běijīng gōngzuò de.
是啊。说实话,我就是因为这所学校才来北京工作的。
That’s right. To tell you the truth, it is just because of this
school that I come to work in Beijing.

Huáng Jīnglǐ: Wáng xiānsheng, wǒmen xiànzài xiān tántan nín de


gōngzuò, hǎo bu hǎo ?
王先生,我们现在先谈谈您的工作,好不好?
Mr. Wang, shall we talk about your work first ?

好啊。我早就想开始工作了。
Good. I’ve long been thinking of starting my work.

Huáng Jīnglǐ: Tīngshuō nín de Zhōngwén hěn hǎo, wǒ xiǎng qǐng nín
fùzé gēn Zhōngfāng Liánxiǎng Gōngsī de yèwù tánpàn, zěnmeyàng ?
听说您的中文很好,我想请您负责跟中方联想公司的业务谈判,

I heard your Chinese is very good. I’d like to ask you
to take the charge of business negotiations with China’s Lenovo
Corporation. What do you think ?

Wáng: Nín shì shuō Zhōngfāng gòumǎi IBM gèrén diànnǎo de tánpàn
ma ?
您是说中方购买 IBM 个人电脑的谈判吗?
Do you mean the negotiation on China’s buying IBM personal
computer production ?

Huáng Jīnglǐ: Zhèng shì.
