The Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) is proposing to study the potential for Indian consultancy exports to four CIS countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. The study would explore sectors in high demand over the next 10 years, existing consultancy capabilities, and requirements of client organizations. It would also examine the local business environment, investment trends, and areas where foreign consultants could provide useful services to support development in these countries. The findings are intended to benefit Indian consultants interested in opportunities in these CIS markets. CDC is seeking support from the India-CIS Chamber of Commerce in carrying out this study.

Dear Ma'am,

Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) is an autonomous institution of the Department


of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt.
of India set up as a nodal organization for promotion, development and strengthening of
consultancy skills and capabilities in the country and abroad. CDC has made significant
progress in emphasizing the need for effective use of consultancy in various sectors of
our society and economy.

DSIR has been sponsoring the study on "Assessment of Potential for Export" to CDC.
Till date, this study has been carried out focusing the following countries: Argentina,
Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Botswana, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, Hungary, Kenya,
Mexico, Mozambique, Romania, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Now it has been proposed to study four CIS countries viz. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia
and Ukraine.
As part of this study, we propose to explore the following:
• Prioritization of sectors in these four CIS
countries that require consultancy based on the development plans during next 10
years.
• Study of present consulting capabilities of these
countries.
• Assessment of consultancy requirement of client
organizations in these countries
• Study of local business environment including
entry barriers, legal and regulatory requirements for establishing consulting
business in these countries as well as market access requirements and issues.
• Investments and growth in Industry/Corporate
Sector during the next 10 years
• Areas where services of foreign consultants
(Indian Consultants) would be useful for development of these countries

The findings of this report will be made available to consultants of theses countries
interested in joining hands to bid for projects in these countries as well as for consulting
assignments for third country exports.

Since this study is expected to benefit the export of Indian consultancy services in these
CIS countries, we seek your support in carrying out the same.
