EFL INSTRUCTORS Minimum Qualifications:


M.A. degree or equivalent in TESL, applied linguistics, foreign-language pedagogy,

or closely related field Excellent communication skills in English (native-like proficiency) Three years (3) of teaching experience in English programs for international students Demonstrated ability to teach a range of EFL courses, levels, and skills, preferably in a communication-centered program. Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience in a North American institution of higher education International teaching experience, particularly in the Middle-East Computer literacy and CALL experience IELTS, TOEFL Test Teaching experience Involvement in professional organizations

Description:
The EFL Instructor teaches 20 scheduled hours per week over a nine-month academic year in the Preparation Year Program at the client University during the 12 month academic year. The goal of the EFL component is to prepare students for success in the English-medium environment at the client university by developing strong English-language skills in academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The EFL component courses are student-centered and highly interactive. Each course will emphasize competencies and learning outcomes of communication, technological competence, critical thinking and teamwork. In addition to the teaching requirement, the EFL Instructor will advise and counsel students, attend staff meetings, develop course materials as needed, evaluate instructional materials, provide leadership and mentoring to new instructors, and contribute to academic coordination and administration activities.
