Constitution of alloys

Alloy: It is a mixture of two or more elements having metallic properties, where the element in largest proportion must be metal and others can be metals or non-metals. They are classified according to their structure. Alloy systems: It contains all the alloys that can be formed by several elements combined in all possible proportions. These are classified according to the type of their phase diagram.

Substitutional Interstitial

Necessity of alloying, types of solid solutions, Hume Rotherys rules, intermediate alloy phases, and electron compounds.
