    A, E, I, O, U. This week we have been working very hard on our vowel sounds. We also learned about how every word has to have a vowel in it. The children have been editing their journals to make sure every word has a vowel in it. Its a little confusing but we are working on it :) We read:

    Please remember to send in one shoebox wrapped in red, white, or pink paper by February 3 along with one box of Sweethearts. There has been a change in our class roll. I have placed a new one in your childs Friday Folder. Please allow them to use this list to address their valentines. Thank you so much!

    Important Dates: February 3: Valentines Day boxes and sweethearts February 7: Chick Fil A Night February 13: PTA Meeting February 20: No School February 27-March 2: Book Fair March 5: PTA Meeting Blue Pod Performs

    This week the blue pod worked very hard and prepared a special Mexican meal for the rest of the school. We made menus and sombreros to wear just like in a real Mexican restaurant. The children worked with the lunchroom staff to serve lunch to the rest of the school. The children LOVED it!

    We worked very hard on differentiating between the vowel sounds. We played many different smartboard games to help us practice hearing the different sounds. Theme This week we finished up answering our research questions about blue morpho butterflies. We have learned so much from each other about butterflies. We even watched a video of a caterpillar building its chrysalis. It was pretty cool. We have begun working on illustrating our research book to share with others in our pod. We, also, spent Friday signing up to build certain stages of the butterflys life cycle. We will start constructing it next week. The children are very excited!!!
