Welcome
from Richard Pharro, CEO, APMG-International.
I am delighted you are considering becoming one of our Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) and we hope that, after you have read this brochure, we can look forward to welcoming you to APMGs community of ATOs. Established in 1993, APMG has continually developed and adapted its accreditation processes with three clear objectives:
Only when all three elements have been successfully assessed can you advertise, administer and deliver APMG accredited training courses and examinations. How we do it:
We undertake a comprehensive review of training material to ensure it accurately meets the requirements of the syllabus. We also interview trainers and visit training centres to ensure they meet our standards. Our ATOs also undergo a review of their quality management systems to ensure candidates receive the best service. Our accreditation model allows an ATO to licence material to an affiliate and for the affiliate to assist the ATO in building business in locations where the ATO is either not located or chooses to work through an affiliate business model. APMG also offers accreditation of online and distance learning courses.
As one of the first ATOs to gain accreditation with APMG for ITIL training, ILX have a long working relationship with APMG. We have been very impressed with the level of service and support to both us, as an ATO, and our candidates. All the staff are friendly, accommodating, and above all, always willing to help. Trainer Assessment
The Assessor will assess potential trainers by observing the individual applicant presenting sessions to students, including workshop and case study elements, preferably as part of a normal training course. This will be matched to the ATOs material for those sessions and the product syllabus. The assessor will also conduct an interview of the applicants level of understanding of the specific product/s. Trainer assessments result in one of three categories: approval, borderline or fail. An approval decision will enable the trainer to deliver accredited courses with no supervision. A borderline decision will result in the need for the individual to undertake some remedial work in order to achieve approved status, until which time the applicant must conduct training OnLy under supervision of an existing approved trainer. A fail decision will result in the individual having to re-apply if they wish to reach Approved Trainer Status.
Stage 5 Certification
Following the closure of any non-conformances raised during the assessment, within the required timescales, the assessors recommendation for accreditation will be submitted for a formal certification decision. A successful training organization will be awarded an APMG accreditation certificate, specifying the scope and period of certification. The certificate awarded has a validity of three years and is subject to contractual agreements and successful annual surveillance. Our ATOs also receive a plaque to display in their offices, showing which products they have been accredited to train.

Stage 6 Surveillance
In addition to full re-assessment of all elements within the scope of accreditation every three years, APMG conducts surveillance activity on ATOs and trainers twice within the 3-year certification cycle. An APMG Assessor will undertake an onsite visit and conduct an interview with your trainer or trainers to confirm the continued compliance and competence of the organization and its individual trainers. Course Materials will also be spot-checked. In addition to surveillance visits, APMG monitors ATOs by the following methods:-
The accreditation process was an investment that has easily paid for itself. Our customers enjoy and remark on our high quality. Dr. James Lee, Managing Director, expertplace advisory, Germany
Stage 7 Re-assessment
APMG carries out a full re-assessment on each ATO and trainer within 3-years from their initial or previous approval date. Re-assessments must be completed and closed out before the expiration of the current certificate. The current version of an ATOs Course Material should be submitted to APMG for re-assessment every three years or upon any refresh of the core guidance. updating Training Material When the standards change and there is a requirement for the ATOs to significantly update training material APMG provides Power Point diagrams of all the slides contained in the revised publication thereby significantly reducing the effort required by the ATO to create basic diagrams to update their material.
