Program Structure
Eligibility
The graduate program should embody sufficient flexibility to fulfill the requirements of either an academic degree (Breadth-Based) obtained in preparation for further graduate study or a terminal professional degree (DepthBased). The discipline of Computer Science has matured enough that the distinction between academic and professional programs is beginning to appear. However, the concept of an utterly terminal program is not widely accepted in the field. All Computer Science academic programs should provide the possibility of additional study in the field. The proposed program is intended to establish an integrated breadth and depth based curriculum model to assure that the common aspects of various potential

Department of Pathology
The subject of pathology deals with the causes of disease, their mechanisms of production and appearances. It is a bridge between the basic and clinical medical sciences. The discipline supports the clinical sciences by helping in reaching a diagnosis and directing the therapeutic modalities. The subject is divided into the following components / sub specialties each having a peculiar domain and specific scope for career planning:Histopathology; the study of cell / tissue pathology Hematology; the study of blood / blood forming tissues / their diseases Microbiology / Parasitology; the study of microbes and parasites Chemical Pathology; the study of abnormalities of body chemistry Virology; the study of viruses with their clinical consequences Immunology; the study of immune mediated reactions / diseases However, for undergraduate studies the subject has been simplified. It is basically taught in 3rd year MBBS with a component of vertical integration. Modular teaching has been introduced in 3rd Year. The whole syllabus of pathology (i.e. general pathology, microbiology, systemic pathology, hematology and chemical pathology) is taught in the form of integrated modules of 2 - 6 weeks duration, in collaboration with other departments. The modules are followed by end-of-module tests having upto 30% weightage in the final examination, which will be conducted at the end of academic session. The success of this system lies in the active participation of the students.
