INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT JAMES is asleep in his bed. The MASSIVE GRANDFATHER CLOCK in the corner of his bedroom reads 12:58AM. He is around 30 years old, has messy, medium-length black hair, and quite a bit of stubble on his face. His EYES open right as the clock strikes its ancient bell at 1:00AM. He sits up and calmly slides out of bed. He doesnt seem to be tired or groggy at all. He walks from his bedside to the bathroom, wearing a pair of striped VICTORIAN-AGE, ONE-PIECE PAJAMAS. His apartment is large, roomy, and clean. The windows are covered with THICK, LUXURIOUS CURTAINS. On a NICE WOODEN TABLE near one of the windows sits a GLASS ANIMAL CAGE. James bends over in front of the cage and smiles. He makes kissing noises and a few moments later a small RAT comes out and starts drinking from its WATER BOTTLE. He gently taps the glass near the bottle and the rat stands up, front paws on the glass where James is tapping. They share a "moment." James stands back up, looking a little brighter than he did before, and walks into the bathroom, where he continues with the rest of his morning routine -- he brushes his teeth, shaves, takes a shower and combs his hair back. -- Once finished, he walks back out into his apartment wearing only a crisp white TOWEL. There are strange-looking WEAPONS lying on tables and other surfaces in his apartment. He reaches his large, wooden, antique-looking DRESSER and puts on a Victorian-age-styled SUIT. James then looks at himself in a TALL MIRROR, eyes himself up and down, and then WINKS at the person staring back at him through the mirror. He walks over to his DESK, which looks like it came straight out of the Oval Office during Lincolns presidency, and picks up a very intricate WEAPON made of rich WOOD and flawless SILVER. He examines the weapon, then wipes it down with a cloth, and sets it back upon his desk. There is a PIN-UP-BOARD on the wall behind his desk, and there are many PICTURES of wolf-like creatures thumb-tacked to it, red Xs drawn across most of them. James opens one of the top DRAWERS of his desk and pulls out a small, worn, leather-bound NOTEBOOK. The cover reads "Conventional Werewolf Hunting." He opens the book where a small piece of ribbon marks a page. He studies the page, flips a few more pages, then stops and studies more. CLOSE UP: PAGE

A mess of notes, sketches, and pencil smudges, At the top of the page bold letters say "Werewolf Anatomy." A paragraph near the bottom of the page reads -- "When a Werewolf is wounded, the beast will bleed a most vile of substances. It will stain cloth and fabric a grotesque yellow colour, and glow on the ground for several minutes, making the creature rather easy to track down and finish off." -James smiles and nods, there is a slightly excited, possibly aroused look in is eyes as he pockets his notebook, picks up the weapon he just wiped down and strolls out of his apartment, locking his door behind him. On the outside we see James lock the only lock on that side of the door and walk away. On the inside there are several deadbolts, sliding chain locks, and other simple security measures on or around the door. The inside of the apartment, which looks like a roomy Victorian summer house, contrasts with the outsides brick and fire escapes quite a bit. They look like theyre from different time periods all together. 2 EXT. CITY - NIGHT James now has a large flaming TORCH in his hand. As he continues his stroll down into the empty street, there is no traffic, no sign of life besides the buildings and trees. He slows for a moment while walking by a SELF-SERVE NEWSPAPER DISPENSER, gives it a strange look, and continues walking, looking back once with the same confused look on his face. 3 EXT. PARK - NIGHT James finds himself walking through a park. He looks around at trees and other scenery. He hears some odd noises, looks around, and then, off in the distance, spots a WEREWOLF devouring whats left of a CORPSE. He jams the torch into the dirt and strolls up the the werewolf, just out of the beasts periphery. James kicks the werewolf hard in the side of the head, and it flies/tumbles about 12 feet. The werewolf picks itself up, glares at James with its piercing yellow eyes, howls loudly, then charges at him. James has his weapon out and ready for the beast. He shows no emotion during the fight with the creature. The werewolf is badly injured during the conflict and tries to retreat; it is bleeding profusely, CRIMSON BLOOD.

James steps in a PUDDLE OF BLOOD as he walks calmly after the werewolf. He seems to be in no hurry whatsoever. He notices the blood on his shoe -JAMES POV: He looks down and sees a small amount of viscus YELLOW BLOOD GLOWING on the side of his SHOE. He frowns, rolling his foot around to get a better look at the mess. (All of the blood in the background should also be yellow and glowing faintly, out of focus so as to not draw too much attention to itself). He hobbles over to a TREE ROOT sticking out of the ground and scrapes the "blood" off his shoe. He then looks around, finds the glowing TRAIL and ANIMAL TRACKS, and starts out after them, not making any haste at all to catch the beast. WIDE LOW SHOT: BEHIND JAMES AS HE WALKS AWAY As James is walking away, the blood trail is no longer yellow, and the beasts tracks are just footprints. 4 EXT. FOREST - NIGHT James comes upon the werewolf collapsed, slouched up against a TREE, sitting in a pool of its own blood. James strolls up in front of the beast. When the werewolf notices James, it becomes distressed, but can no longer make any effort to escape. There is real terror in the creatures eyes. James raises his weapon and delivers the killing blow. Right before the weapon connects, the werewolf lets out a bone-chilling scream that faintly sounds like the word "NO." James wastes no time in pulling out a small leather POUCH full of various fine SILVER TOOLS, and picks up the silver BLADE. He proceeds to cut the animal into easier-to-manage pieces, stuffs them into a black plastic TRASH BAG, slings it over his shoulder, and strolls home with a subtle look of triumph on his face. CLOSE UP: TRASH BAG From the outside of the trash bag, you can make out human features on the inside. A face is pressed tightly against the plastic, along with a hand and a foot.

INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT James walks into his apartment and throws the trash bag in the corner. He looks a little tired now, as he removes his fancy clothing and leaves it on the floor where he took it off. The grungy-looking PJs from earlier that morning are the only thing he leaves on. He lays his LONG OVERCOAT on the tall WOODEN DESK CHAIR, climbs into bed and lays his head down on a nice COMFORTABLE-LOOKING PILLOW. The grandfather clock reads 4:56AM in the background as he closes his EYES. SCREEN CUTS TO BLACK AS SOON AS HIS EYES CLOSE Music fades in a little ahead of the camera, right back to Jamess eyes, still closed, head resting on a DIRTY, PIECE OF JUNK PILLOW, the camera slowly pulls out toward the ceiling, reveling a vast amount of DEAD BODIES, ALL PARTS strewn about his apartment. Trash bags full of corpses lay in many of the corners of his home. Every item of furniture is in the same spot as its Victorian counterpart. Everything that was made of nice wood is now cheap and trashy, except for the grandfather clock. There is a SMALL BROKEN ANIMAL CAGE on the CHEAP PLASTIC TABLE, a COMPUTER MOUSE inside. The tall chair is now just an OFFICE CHAIR with a BLOODY RAIN PONCHO slung over it. There is a BLOODY wooden AXE leaned up against the chair as well. His suit that was on the floor is now just a pair of JEANS and a SWEATER. All of the nice fancy weapons that were all over before are now a handful of rusty MACHETES, KNIVES, and some HAND GUNS. WIDE SHOT: FROM CEILING Once the entire room is shown in the camera for a few seconds, the camera fades out. Once the camera goes completely black, the music gets louder and credits roll. END
