automatically align, snap onto pipes, and offer quick-connect hand installation and removal without tools all help to speed maintenance, reduce downtime, and improve finished product quality. Despite the number of new product choices, proper spray nozzle selection still depends on an understanding of nozzle characteristics such as flow rate, pressure rating, spray pattern, and spray impact. For this reason, you need a nozzle manufacturer who knows the technical aspects of your metal
Improved product quality and reduced maintenance time begin with spray nozzle selection
Spray nozzles are critical to the metal pretreatment process. In fact, all types of product quality problems, including poor paint adhesion, corrosion, and uneven coating, can often be traced back to improper spraying. Poor nozzle performance can also boost operating costs as increased flow rates result in more chemicals being sprayed and wasted. Fortunately, recent advancements in spray nozzle technology have made metal pretreatment easier than ever. Nozzles that

Change nozzle tips by hand and cut maintenance time with the ProMax QuickJet nozzles
The ProMax QuickJet spray nozzles have a simple, two-part assembly with a unique patented spray tip design that makes tip changing quick and effortless. Because of the nozzles easy grip spray tips, tip installation can be done by hand, in seconds, and without tools. Replacing the spray tip is even easier due to a detent flexing member thats located on the spray tip. It provides a renewed snap-in feel whenever the tip is replaced. A built-in internal stop assures automatic spray alignment every time. A standard TEFLON -coated VITON tip seal
applications where phosphates, acids, solvents, and other caustic solutions are used. The nozzle also resists caking and scale buildup, so clogging problems are virtually eliminated. The nozzle accepts ProMax Quick FullJet, VeeJet, and WhirlJet spray tips. The ProMax Quick FullJet tips are available with standard angles in nine capacities ranging from .19 to 2.9 gpm at 40 psi (.85 to 12.7 l/min at 4 bar). Also offered are wide angle models with seven capacities ranging from .51 to 2.6 gpm at 40 psi (2.3 to 11.5 l/min at 4 bar). The ProMax Quick WhirlJet tips are available with standard angles in capacities ranging from .10 to 3.0 gpm at 40 psi (.46 to 13.7 l/min at 4 bar). Wide angle models have four capacities ranging from 1.0 to 3.0 gpm at 40 psi (4.6 to 13.7 l/min at 4 bar). A miniature version of the nozzle is also offered. The nozzle measures slightly over 1" (2.54 cm) when mounted in a standard header. This makes the nozzle an excellent choice for applications where space is limited. It also features the same two-part assembly as the larger ProMax nozzle, which makes spray tip changing quick and easy. The nozzle is available with standard angles in capacities ranging from .15 to .8 gpm at 40 psi (.59 to 3.2 l/min at 3 bar).
provides a positive seal between the body and the tip. And because the seal remains attached to the tip, accidental loss or misplacement is prevented. The nozzle is constructed of ProMax material, a chemically coupled, glass-reinforced grade of polypropylene that offers strength, durability, and chemical resistance. This makes the ProMax QuickJet spray nozzle ideal for many metal finishing

Our multi-channel Model 727 WindJet nozzle is designed to generate quiet, efficient, and controlled distribution of compressed air. Available in ABS plastic, PPS, and aluminum, the nozzles air stream is discharged through 16 precision orifices that convert a low-pressure flow of compressed air into a targeted, high velocity stream with uniform air distribution and precisely controlled spray pattern integrity. Recessed orifices protect against external damage, and also provide an air escape should the nozzle accidentally be placed against a surface. A convenient mounting hole provides correct positioning on the header or manifold for fixed applications. A threaded 1/4" NPT or BSPT inlet connection permits attachment of the nozzle to a trigger valve spray gun for easy-to-control handheld operation. The ABS and PPS Model 727 WindJet nozzles also meet OSHA specifications for dead-end pressure and standard 1910.95 for noise. The Model 727 WindJet nozzle is also available in aluminum for applications requiring greater durability.

More nozzles for metal pretreatment applications High-impact VeeJet nozzles are ideal for most cleaning stages
Much of the cleaning action in pretreatment systems is produced by spray impact. Thats why the high-impact solid stream and flat sprays, provided by our stainless steel VeeJet nozzles, prove highly effective for cleaning applications. The nozzles can be used for rinsing, wetting, and conversion coating as well. With rated spray angles of 0 to 110, flow rates range from .30 to 70 gpm at 40 psi (1.4 to 320 l/min at 4 bar), VeeJet nozzles are available with 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" NPT or BSPT inlet connections. Quick VeeJet flat spray tips offer the same advantages of standard VeeJet nozzles with the added time-saving benefit of a quick-connect, one-quarter turn installation. Designed to fit into a QuickJet nozzle body with a
Buna-N seal, spray tips may be removed and replaced by hand and offer automatic alignment. Plus you can choose from highimpact solid stream or flat sprays with flow rates and angles similar to those of standard VeeJet nozzles.

FloodJet nozzles provide wide angle spray patterns at low pressures for economical rinsing
Producing a wide angle flat spray with medium impact, our stainless steel FloodJet nozzles are ideal for rinsing applications. These nozzles can also help to conserve rinsing solution. In addition to a uniform spray distribution of medium-sized drops, a precisionmachined deflector surface provides dependable, accurate control of deflection and spray angle. A round orifice and large, unobstructed flow passages minimize clogging problems. The nozzles are available with spray angles that range from 75 to 150. Flow rates range from .05 to 90 gpm at 40 psi (.20 to 355 l/min at 3 bar). Quick FloodJet spray tips provide the added benefit of quickconnect, one-quarter turn installation. Spray angles range from 75 to 150. Flow rates range from .05 to 12.0 gpm at 40 psi (.20 to 47 l/min at 3 bar).
An array of body sizes and a variety of inlet connection options are also available. Hydraulic atomizing nozzles use liquid pressure alone to produce finely atomized drops in a hollow cone spray pattern with uniform distribution. Flow rates range from 1.3 to 23 gph at 30 psi (4.8 to 84 l/h at 2 bar).
Air and hydraulic atomizing nozzles help keep parts wet between pretreatment stages
The extremely fine atomized spray produced by air atomizing nozzles is the result of compressed air being mixed with liquid under pressure. Designed to operate at air pressures ranging from 10 to 60 psi (.7 to 4.0 bar), the nozzles can be specified with pressure or siphon/gravity liquid feed spray set-ups.
The eductor is available in glass-reinforced polypropylene or cast 316 stainless steel. The polypropylene version features a 1/4", 3/8", 3/4", or 1-1/2" NPT or BSPT (M) inlet connection. Inlet connection sizes for the stainless steel model include 3/8", 3/4", and 1-1/2" NPT or BSPT (M). A PVDF version of the eductor is also offered.
