OPERATION INSTRUCTION
Starting the unit
1. 2. 3. 1. 2. Before plugging on the power, turn the Humidity Control Switch to the OFF position. Plug in the power and turn on the machine. Turn the Humidity Control Switch to the recommended position. The correct position is number 4 to 6.

Turning off the unit

The correct sequence of switching off the machine is: Turn the Humidity Control Switch to the OFF position. You will observe the fan and compressor cut off. Switch off the power switch at the power plug. Unplug the power plug. If the dehumidifier is not used for more than a week, unplug the power cord.

PRECAUTIONS
1. The dehumidifier will stop when the humidity set point at the Humidity Control Switch is higher than the ambient humidity level. This is normal. Do not attempt to turn the Control Switch to a lower number just to make the machine runs. This will result in an overheated machine. (You may do so for a short moment for the sack of checking if the machine is working or not. Once the machine proves to work, leave it ON for at least 2 minutes before turning the Control Switch to the correct position. DO NOT keep turning the Control Switch from large number to small number or back and forth quickly. This will result in short cycling and will damage the compressor. If testing must be done, make sure each switching last for more than a minute and no more than 2 cycle of switching is to be done in one sitting. ) If the dehumidifier is not used for more than a week, unplug the condensate drain pipe to drain off the reserve water tank. This will prevent fungus growth inside the tank. The compressor may re-start after 3 to 4 minutes delay each time the compressor is turned off. The recommended Humidity Control Switch set point position is between 4 to 6. 4 is very dry and 6 is medium dry. It is NOT recommended to have the switch set below 4 as this will result in the compressor running non-stop most of the time. This will result in overheating and shortening of the compressor life span.

INSTALLING THE DRAINAGE HOSE

The drainage hose can be put through a slit in the window or round a door.

or through a hole made in the wall.

or through a vent made at the bottom of the door or in the window frame.

Notice that the drainage hose must not be installed more than 1.8 meters higher than the unit.

SPECIAL FEATURES
1. Automatic Humidity Control
After the Humidity Control Switch set point is set at the right position (or right number) , the dehumidifier will run automatically to achieve the right humidity level by turning on or turning off the system to maintain the desired humidity level. The user need not worry about the desire room humidity and has not need to switch on or off the unit manually to maintain the right level of humidity.

2. Adjustable Humidity Control

The end user can freely select the humidity level to achieve the right level of humidity. This is by means of the humidity control switch. Note that very low humidity like those below 40% RH is not easily achievable by this range of dehumidifier. For low humidity control, please consult our technical staff for proper capacity selection procedure.

3. Continuous Drainage Function

The drainage system can be operated continuously. There is no need to switch off the machine in order to drain the water away. The drainage is continuous and non-stop.

4. Convenient Cartridge-type filter.

The filter comes with a convenient cartridge which can be easily removed and washed without affecting the continuous function of the dehumidifier. For safety, it is recommended to switch off the machine before doing so.

5. Automatic Defrost Function

The dehumidifier comes with an automatic defrost function. When the Dehumidifier is placed in a low ambient temperature of less than 15 deg C, the coil tends to freeze up. In order to counter such problem, the dehumidifier has a built-in sensor to trigger the defrost function automatically. At defrost mode, the compressor stops and the fan keeps running to melt the ice forms on the cooling coil. At this time the defrost indicating light lights up to indicate that it is under defrost mode. In events when the ambient temperature is too low or the humidity is too low, we expect the water removal capacity of the dehumidifier to drop significantly. This is due to the fact that drying cycle is not in operation during defrosting mode. Minor condensation at the side wall is also expected. The dehumidifier may stop for a while. This is a normal phenomenon. There is no need to call for repair. Just leave the machine off for 1 to 2 hours and turn it on again later.

PRECAUTIONS
1. The operation temperature range is 15-32 deg C. Anything out of this range will result in the halted system by the safety protection switch. It is normal and it does not indicate the system is malfunction. Note also that for below 15 deg C, the efficiency of the machine is quite low due to the constant defrost mode being used 2. When the system runs, the supply air is warm and may heat up the ambient temperature by 3-4 degree C. The supply air may be 8-10 deg C warmer at the dehumidifier outlet. This is normal. 3. The unit MUST BE IN UPRIGHT POSITION AT ALL TIME, include transport, non operational hours or long term storage. A maximum 30 deg angle tilt is permitted during transport time and must not in power. Tilt time must not be more than 60 seconds. After each tilt, do not turn the dehumidifier on for at least ONE HOUR. 4. Please clean the filter frequently and in a fixed interval. For dusty place usage, please check the filter every week. 5. Do clean the coil regularly with soap water and rinse with clean fresh water. Oil or dirt that stays on the coil will reduce the efficiency of the machine. It is recommended that the machine should go through a standard air con chemical wash once in 3 years, subject to how dirty the environment is. However, over frequent chemical wash may deteriorate the coil quality. 6. Make sure there is no obstruction in the front (2 m) and at the back (0.2 m) when it is in operation.
