A Fulbright teacher exchange the present teaching, situation is exchange with a fellow teacher from somewhere in the world from 6-8 weeks to a year. This program has helped nearly 23, 000 teachers and school administrators to promote mutual understanding between the United States and countries around the world. This opportunity involves a year or semester direct exchange with a counterpart in another country teaching the same subject at the same level. The Fulbright program was conceived in 1945 by J. William Fulbright an obscure senator from Arkansas. This program envisioned as a cultural and educational Marshall plan that would promote international good will and understanding through the exchange of scholars from the United States and those from other countries. Fulbright classroom teacher exchange program from 19462013 this program supported primary and secondary teachers to exchange teaching position with colleagues in other countries. This Fulbright teacher exchange program has free teaching programs on global citizenship. It is a fully competitive program according to the chief of the Fulbright teacher exchange. The eligibility is such that we are looking not only for qualified teachers but flexible teachers and good ambassadors for the United State. This program supports both foreign teachers in the US and Americans teaching abroad. It is administered by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of US Department. The Fulbright student program administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in cooperation with the US government about 450 annual grants for graduating college seniors and graduate students from the US as well as 2000 from other countries. The program in the Philippines is managed by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation.
The visiting international faculty program (VIF) is the US largest cultural exchange program for teachers and schools. It is transforming lives through international exchange of teachers. VIF offers highly qualified teachers who teach a new generation of students for success in globally integrated world. Different schools should have at least one international exchange teacher, and the learners should be exposed to a variety of exchange teacher, and the learners should be exposed to a variety of exchange teachers during their academic careers. VIF program is more commonly referred to as exchange program and serve as an intercultural program of exchange with international teachers from around the world who serve as teachers and cultural ambassadors. The number of teachers participating in the program has grown from 12 teachers to thousands of teachers today. These teachers have concentrated their work in the different branched out to other schools. VIF teachers typically fill the need for teachers in difficult to staff areas such as foreign language English as a second language, math science and special education. The program takes care of the selection process that includes the application interviews and backgrounds check. According to the guidelines of the program, all participants receive salary and benefits adapted to exchange teacher to include health, life and disability insurance, dental, liability insurance, round-trip airline stipends, and interest-free loans to help offset travel and relocation expenses and assistance with car rental or leasing for long or short transformation. Salaries are paid on a varying level based on where the visiting international teacher decides to do work. Schools located in systems with higher costs of living normally pay a higher wage. Overall, the visiting international faculty program handless the total recruitment process for a school system in addition to support of the visiting teacher.
