Pakistan International Airlines(PIA), Karachi (Pakistan) During my tenure at Pakistan International Airlines, I was placed into a two week long rotation of the engine overall shop, base maintenance department, line maintenance, propeller manufacturing department and the auxiliary power unit department. In each of these departments I was assigned a supervisor who briefed me on the equipment present and the different manufacturing processes involved. I was familiarized with the working environment of the aviation industry and introduced to the processes and equipment used.
Intern
Karachi Tools Dies and Moulds Centre, Karachi (Pakistan) I interned at the Karachi Tools Dies and Moulds Centre. During my tenure there I gained familiarity and experience in the departments of CAD/CAM, reverse engineering, heat treatment plant, mechanical workshop and the electrical discharge machine (EDM). I gained knowledge about the mould formation of plastic parts, pressure die casting, sheet metal dies and jigs & fixtures. I was familiarized with the working environment of the industry and the different manufacturing processes involved to produce various automotive parts. By the end of the internship a report was submitted giving suggestions on how improvements could be made in the industry and how efficiency could be increased.

PERSONAL SKILLS Communication skills Good communication skills gained through my experience being the team leader of my project which included both senior and junior members. I was able to create a working environment in which the team bonded well. I have polished my communication skills through the Formula Student competition in UK by interacting with students of different teams from various countries. Furthermore I have gained international exposure during my stay in UK by communicating with tourists from different nationalities. I have good ability to adapt to multicultural environments and the ability to survive independently in unfamiliar environments. Also I have gained good communication skills through my internships and my membership in different societies by organizing events in collaboration with other universities and arranging outdoor programmes. Sense of Organization; which was acquired while collecting funds for the Flood Victims of 2009, Pakistan. Good experience in team management; through my participation in The Coronation event. It was a 3 day convention aimed to comprehend how it feels to be in the shoes of a leader. This was achieved by dividing the participants into different groups who were put into simulations and role playing activities to provide solutions in a crisis situation. The event also included a live conversation session with the ExPresident of Pakistan, Gen Pervez Musharraf. Good command of MS Office Experience in the following softwares ; AutoCAD, Pro-E, MATLAB and ANSYS Have interest in undergoing adventurous excursions such as trekking, hiking, camping or visiting different countries. Participated in the IEEE Robotics workshop. Completed the "Brand You" course which was based on personal branding. Attended the two week long ANSYS workshop. Attended the ASHRAE workshop on Public Speaking. Ability to handle the most critical situations in the best and effective manner. Fast learner and troubleshooting capability. Have an excellent disciplinary record. FYP: Modelling and simulation of the Formula Student cars engine in which I scored an A grade. Calculation of the sheer stresses developed at the bolts on the wheel hubs of a car. Report submitted by the end of the internship at KTDMC providing ways with which improvements could be made in the industry. Project on the number of fans that could be installed on a member, supported from both ends of the walls in a mosque, based on the forces developed and safety requirements.
