Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admissions in the first semester of ME/ M.Tech programmes
for session 2009-10, running in Affiliated Institutions, University Institute of Technology UIT) and University Teaching
Departments (UTDs) of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Viswavidyalaya (University of Technology of the state of Madhya
Pradesh). Courses offered: Details of courses available are given at the end of this page. Eligibility criterion: The
eligibility criterion for each course is given at the end of this page. Sanctioned Intake & Reservation: Tentative seats
available are given at Annexure-II. Final distribution of seats shall be made available at the time of interview. As per
Government of Madhya Pradesh norms, respectively 16, 20 &14 percent seats, of the sanctioned intake are
reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class
excluding creamy layer (OBC), of Madhya Pradesh.
Admission Procedure: Following shall be the admission procedure: Eligible candidates shall be called for interview
in the university campus on prescribed date and time. The detail of which shall be available at URL
http://admissions.rgtu.net In the interview the candidate shall be judged on the basis of technical aptitude, which shall
be conducted by the Appropriate Technical Expert Committee. At the time of interview candidate shall be required to fill
choice form, for various courses of the same stream. Course wise merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the
candidates GATE percentile (weightage 80%) and the marks secured in the interview by the candidate (weightage 20%).
Seats shall be first filled through GATE qualified candidates according to procedure, as listed above. However, if GATE
qualified candidates are not available, then the remaining vacant seats shall be filled through non GATE qualified
candidates. In this case merit list (for each course) shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate
in the qualifying examination (weightage 80%) and the marks secured in the interview by the candidate (weightage 20%).
List of selected candidates for various courses shall be declared by the university and would be available at URL
http://admissions.rgtu.net The candidates may note that, if sufficient number of GATE qualified candidates are available;
in that case Non GATE qualified candidates will not be called for interview. 5 Instructions for Filling the Online
Application Form: 5.1 Online application Form will be available at URL http://admissions.rgtu.net 5.2 Before filling up the
online application form, candidates should keep ready the required bank draft (as per details given under at 5.7), so that
relevant entries regarding bank draft details, could be entered in the application form. 5.3 Candidates are required to fill
all the relevant entries in the application form and submit the same online. 5.4 On successful submission of application
form, a registration number will be generated, which will appear on the top left corner of the submitted form. This number
should be treated as your Identification Number and should be quoted in all future communications. 5.5 After successful
generation of registration number, the candidate shall take a printout of the application form (containing registration
number of the candidate). 5.6 The candidate is required to, paste his recent passport size photograph and affix his
signature at the appropriate location in the printout of the application form. 5.7 Candidates are required to send this
completely filled application form, along with the required bank draft of Rs. 750/- which should be drawn in favour of
Registrar-RGPV, payable at Bhopal. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other
Backward Class excluding creamy layer (OBC), of Madhya Pradesh are not required to submit the bank draft of Rs. 750/-
, hence their application should be send without bank draft. 5.8 A Print out of sucessfully submited online application
form, along with the required bank draft should be send in a closed envelope to Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki
Vishwavidyalaya, Airport Bypass Road, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal-462036,. “Application for
M.Tech./M.E.…… (Name of the course)” should be super scribed, at left top most corner of the
envelope. This envelope should reach this office latest by 4th July 2009. 5.9 Candidates applying for courses of different
streams (as specified in Annexure-I) are required to send separate application forms and bank drafts. However,
candidates applying for various courses of the same stream need not apply separately. 6 General
Information/Instructions for the Candidates: 6.1 The candidates are advised to apply for admission, only if they fulfill the
eligibility criterion, as given in Annexure-I. The onus of checking appropriate eligibility lies with the candidate. 6.2
Candidates must ensure that they have correctly filled the application form. After submission of online application form,
request for change of entries, will not be accepted. Incorrectly filled application forms are liable to be rejected. 6.3 The
name of the candidate entered in the application form, must be the same as given in the mark sheet of the qualifying
examination of the University. Any discrepancies in the name should be authenticated by the competent authority. 6.4
Candidates are required to report them selves personally at the given date, time and venue, for the interview. Non-
appearance in the interview, for whatsoever reason, shall automatically disqualify the candidature for admission. 6.5 At
the time of interview, candidates are required to bring following original documents, along with two Xeroxed copies of
each; (i) Mark-sheet of qualifying examination. (ii) GATE score card (iii) Cast & domicile, certificates (for candidates
belonging to Scheduled Cast (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class excluding creamy layer (OBC), of
Madhya Pradesh). (iv) Two recent passport size photographs. 6.6 In case, any university awards grade in qualifying
examination, then Xeroxed copy of certificate from the competent authority of the university, stating equivalent
percentage of marks as well as conversion formula used, must be attached along with application form, and the original
of the same should be submitted at the time of interview. 6.7 Selected candidates shall be required to submit full Tuition
fee of one semester, within seven days from the date of declaration of list of selected candidates. Failure in submitting

the fee shall disqualify the candidature. 6.8 Canvassing in any form shall lead to rejection of candidature. 7. Tuition
fee: Tuition fee and other fee, as decided by the Admission & Fee Regulatory Committee/ State Government/ University,

Cancellation of Admission: If at any stage, it is found that a candidate has got admission in any course on the basis of
false or incorrect information or by hiding relevant facts or if at any time after admission it is found that the admission was
given to the candidate due to some mistake or oversight, the admission granted to such a candi-date, shall liable to be
cancelled forthwith, without any notice at any time during the course of his/her studies, by the Registrar of the university.
Refund of fee: If a candidate gets his/her admission cancelled from the university or admission of an ineligible
candidate is cancelled by the university, prior to 7 days before the last date of admission, as declared by the University,
the tuition fee and other fee deposited by the candidate in the intuitions shall be refunded back to the candidate by the
concerned institution after deducting 10% from the deposited amount. 10. Modification to rules/procedures: The
RGPV reserves the right to amend any provision/rules/procedure for admission, to ensure fair and transparent admission
procedure or in public interest, without any prior notice. The modifications so made, shall be binding to all. 11.
Interpretation: 11.1 If any question arises relating to the interpretation of above rules & procedure, the decision of the
University Authorities shall be final and binding. 11.2 The decision of university authorities shall also be final & binding in
the matter relating to admission. Important Dates: Following is the tentative schedule for admission process.
However, university reserves the right to amend or modify these dates, which shall be notified at the website of
university www.rgut.net or at URL http:// admissions.rgtu.netAttendance Requirement : A student is required to attend
at least 75% of the classes held during the semester, failing which he/she shall not be eligible to appear in the final
examination of that semester. Further, all other conditions, as listed in respective ordinances shall also be
