Full-Time Enrolment You are required to remain enrolled on a full-time basis. Program and Course Information For further information about your program and courses, please consult www.law.anu.edu.au Postgraduate Coursework Programs: The ANU College of Law would like to draw your attention to the fact that nearly all the courses in the graduate coursework program (except The ANU Juris Doctor (JD)) are offered in intensive format. Courses consist normally of 4 days of class time, which may be scheduled in one block, separated by a weekend, or 2-day blocks separated by a week or more. This means that there will regularly be periods during which fulltime students enrolled in the program will not have regular classes. We strongly recommend that you take this into account when selecting the particular courses you wish to take and scheduling time for the completion of the assessment in those subjects (generally a research essay due 6 weeks after the last class), as well as any periods of independent research you wish to undertake. Program and Course Information For further information about your program and courses, please consult http://programsandcourses.anu.edu.au/ International Student Fees Indicative tuition fees can be found at www.anu.edu.au/sas/fees/#tuition and are published for guidance only. They are based on an annual full-time enrolment of 48 units in the discipline area of the program in the current year. Fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change. Your deposit will cover your first semester's tuition fees unless you vary your degree from the one detailed on this offer. If you vary your degree from the one detailed on this offer, your tuition fee liability may vary and you may be invoiced in your first semester for an amount additional to the deposit. Tuition fees are calculated per teaching session and the amount will be based on your enrolment at the time of invoicing for that session only. You will not be invoiced for a full-year's worth of tuition fees in one billing period. Please note that your deposit amount also includes visa length overseas health cover. Services and Amenities Fee On 11 October 2011, the Australian Parliament passed legislation allowing universities and other higher education providers to charge a fee for student services and amenities of a non-academic nature. From 2013, all international students at the ANU will be required to pay the Student Services and Amenities fee (SA Fee). The fee is $273 and it will be indexed every year. Payment will be required upon receipt of your invoice after enrolment in the semester/term. Proceeds from the SA Fee may be used to deliver a range of student services including counselling, employment/career advice, child care, financial advice, food services and sporting and recreational activities, as well as independent student representation structures. For more information about the fee, please see: http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/fees/sa_fee.php Overseas Student Health Cover Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a private health care arrangement, which helps cover the cost of medical treatments in and out of hospital, for example if you get sick or have an accident. It is a condition of your student visa (Condition 8501) that you are covered by OSHC for the duration of your student visa. Allianz Global Assistance is the preferred health cover provider of The Australian National University; this arrangement, however, does not restrict you from obtaining OSHC from a recognised provider of your choice. Further information about alternative recognised providers for OSHC is available at http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/Publishing.nsf/Content/Overseas+Student+Health+Cover+FAQ-1. If you choose to select a health insurance provider other than the University's nominated provider (Allianz Global Assistance), you must show evidence that you are covered by the other health insurance provider for your proposed visa duration. OSHC must be arranged before a student visa can be issued. It is your 3 | DIVISION OF STUDENT ADMINISTRATION
responsibility to make sure that you have a current health cover policy until your student visa expires. Information about the costs and services provided by Allianz Global Assistance can be obtained from www.oshcallianzassistance.com.au Visa and English Requirements You are required to comply with the current student visa regulations during your enrolment at the University. This includes Australian Government English Proficiency requirements (separate to the University's English language policy) for the issue of a student visa.
