    Check the sealing of the cable ends and provision of spare cable caps with each OPGW
    drums.

    Carry out the physical inspection of the cable assembly and check the OPGW drum
    length, Optical Fibers continuity and attenuation of optical fibers by OTDR.

    Acceptance Criteria:
    Appearance shall have no defect and drum marking shall be correct. The length of OPGW cable shall be as per approved drum schedule. The overall optical fibers attenuation should be less than or equal to 0.21dB/km at 1550nm and 0.35dB/km at 1310nm. Cable ends shall be properly sealed and spare cable caps shall be provided with each OPGW drum.

    Result / Conclusion: Test results shall be filled in the Pre-Installation test report (Drum Test) for 48-Fibre
    OPGW Cable as per enclosed format.

    If there is any excess of attenuation compared with the standard attenuation norms as
    per approved document then the test shall be re-conducted. If the result of Drum test does not meet the acceptance criteria, proper action shall be taken for the replacement of OPGW Cable drums.
