OBJECTIVE
To obtain a teaching position where I can help students grow academically and live a healthy lifestyle within and outside of the classroom. I plan to accomplish this by incorporating physical activity, promoting responsibility and increasing self-esteem in each students school day.

TEACHING EXPERIENCES
Kinawa 5-6 School, Okemos, Michigan: Michigan State University Year Long Internship August 2013-April 2014, Grade Level: 5th Collaborated with mentor teachers to develop and execute an effective classroom and team management system as a member of a three-teacher team. Co-taught school and classroom routines and expectations. Designed and implemented original lesson and unit plans in math, literacy, science and social studies. Worked intensively with SmartBoard technology, integrating it into daily lessons in all core subject areas. Observed and taught math for three periods a day throughout the year long internship. Applied and taught artistic mathematical skill sets through isometric dot patterns and 3-demensional geometric shape construction. Performed all teacher responsibilities during a six-week lead teaching period, including classroom and discipline management and parent and staff communication.

Observed and assisted my collaborating teacher during fall parent/teacher conferences. Independently lead spring parent/teacher conferences (March 2014). Attended and participated in staff meetings, grade-level meetings, parent meetings, district wide professional development and school wide PLC meetings. Collaborated extensively with resource teachers to implement effective behavioral plans for specific students.

Reo Elementary School, Lansing, Michigan: Senior Year Field Experience September 2012-April 2013, Grade Level: 2nd Observed and practiced classroom management skills. Planned and taught two-day lessons in subject areas of math, literacy, science and social studies. Observed DIBELS Progress Monitoring. Riddle Elementary School, Lansing, Michigan: Sophomore Year Field Experience September 2010-December 2010, Grade Level: 3rd Observed classroom activities and management techniques. Worked with small groups of ELL students to improve their English literacy skills.

Assisted with a school-wide mock presidential election.

PESG Substitute Teaching Okemos Public School District, 2013-Present Followed provided lesson plans Upheld existing behavioral plans Otsego County Sportsplex Camp Counselor Gaylord, Michigan, 2011-2014 Supervised large groups of children while engaged in sporting activities, swimming and ice-skating. Planned and organized various field trips and activities for children to participate in throughout the summer. Designed bi-weekly educational arts and crafts activities. Philanthropic Activities Through Membership in Kappa Delta Sorority East Lansing, Michigan, 2010-2013 Hosted and participated in holiday parties for local troops of Girl Scouts of the USA. Planned and raised awareness of Kappa Delta Sororitys Confidence Coalition in local youth by hosting confidence events for local troops of Girl Scouts of the USA. Planned and participated in four Shamrock 5k Walk/Runs benefitting Prevent Child Abuse America and Child Abuse Prevention Services of Lansing, Michigan. Increased and spread personal confidence by hosting a Confidence Coalition booth on Michigan State Universitys campus.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
I am very interested and active in running clubs, intramural soccer and ultimate Frisbee teams. Being a member of these clubs and teams encourages a healthy lifestyle, not only to myself, but to those I surround myself with. Coaching a cross-country or soccer team is an idea that I am passionate about pursuing.
