PROJECT SYNOPSIS
Working Title
A STUDY ON JOB SATISFACTION AMONG THE EMPLOYEES.

Aim
This project aims at studying the factors that influence employee satisfaction and thus the
retention of existing employees.

Purpose of the Study:


The study carried out at MRF TYRES LIMITED in Arakkonam. Job satisfaction is an
important part of human resource management. Job satisfaction is a complex notion that
manifests itself in different people. Whether job satisfaction is high or low depends on how well
a person needs and wants are met through work, working conditions. Job Satisfaction is an
important part of human resource management could improve performance simply by satisfying
workers through pleasant working conditions, adequate rewards, and the like.
The study was carried out because the management wanted to find out the various factors that
effected the satisfaction of their employees. The management can then try to concentrate on
factors that would improve the satisfaction level of employees performance. The study included
various factors like welfare measures, employee-employer relationship, common problem faced
by employees, factors that enrich the job, training programs etc.

Objectives of the Study


1. General Objective:
To study the level of job satisfaction of the employees in MRF Tyres Ltd (Arkonam unit).
2. Specified Objectives:
To examine the level of satisfaction on the basis of the following:
The providing basic needs to employees from MRF Tyres Ltd.
The good well measurement of MRF Tyres Ltd.
The image of MRF Tyres Ltd.
The communication between MRF its an employee.
The work environment of employee.
The job role satisfaction of employee.
The organizational integration.
The personal growth & development of employee.
The value of MRF Tyres Ltd.
The employees his neatly, safety, environment conditions MRF Tyres Ltd.

Key Questions
The key research questions are as follows:
1. What are the various factors that influence employee satisfaction?
2. Does the action taken by the company help in retention of employees?
3. Are the services offered satisfactory with regards to the following?

Welfare benefits

Management support

Remuneration

Incentive plans

Training given by the company

Research Methodology
Type of Research
The type of research that was selected for the project was Descriptive.

Sampling Plan
Population
Population refers to the total number of items in the universe. The population is with
respect to the study conducted with the employees of MRF Tyres.
Sampling Unit
The sampling unit adapted in the research study was with the employees of MRF Ltd.
Sample Size
In consultation with the company guide the sample size taken as 100 employees.
Mode of Data Collection
Data was obtained by direct communication with the respondents. The approach was
Survey Based.

Construction of Tools
The tool used for collecting the data for the study was the questionnaire. A questionnaire
is simply a formalized schedule to obtain and record specified and relevant information with
tolerable accuracy and competency. Data was collected through a specially designed
questionnaire for the present study.

Data Collection
The study included both primary and secondary data.

Primary data: All primary data required for the study has been collected with the help of
questionnaires, direct personal interview, in-direct oral interview and by having
discussion with the employees on the corporation.
Secondary data: Secondary data was collected from the various records of organizations,
reports, etc.

Data Analysis Technique


The analysis of the results will be depicted in the form of a table, bar chart, pie chart and
graph.

Work Plan
As already the topic and the questionnaire design is over, only literature review and direct
interviews are left. It will take around 10 15 days to complete the direct interview and data
collection work, after the approval of synopsis. Data analysis and documentation work will
consume another 15 20 days of time.
