Ease of Use
Attend our two-day training class and youll be ready to run simulations on product models at your desktop.
Step One
Step Two
Step Three
Step Four
Build an assembly in Pro/E and open it in CFdesign using controls within the Pro/E interface. The ow volume is automatically generated for you.
CFdesign automatically assigns volumetric boundary conditions and material properties then intelligently assigns optimal mesh sizes on the model and ow volume. All that remains is selecting ow and heat transfer analysis options.
Press GO. CFdesign automatically generates the optimal mesh and provides interactive access to rst-pass simulation results within minutes.
Conduct a 3D design review using CFdesigns powerful visualization tools and 3D publishing capabilities. Return to Pro/E to implement design changes and begin a second associative simulation for comparison.

Technology Platform
Continuously improved since 1992, CFdesign is the only uid ow and heat transfer solution built on a comprehensive and scalable architecture that empowers engineering teams with intuitive tools to proactively address even the most challenging projects.
CAD INTEGRATION One modeling environment: Pro/E Pro/E mouse navigation controls Auto ow volume creation and void lling Auto assignment of boundary conditions and material properties Associativity includes part names, mesh size, and boundary conditions All the advantages of embedded simulation without the limitations PROJECT COLLABORATION The CFdesign Communication Center and Report Generator are innovative 3D publishing tools allowing even non-technical members of the team (business/ product managers, marketing, legal, etc.) to interact with CFD results at their desktop. Flow and thermal loads are passed to Abaqus, ANSYS, COSMOS, Mechanica, and Nastran to aid better structural decisions. DESIGN REVIEW The Design Review Center is a 3D environment for apples-to-apples comparison of multiple designs. See the interrelationship between geometry, materials, and operating conditions upfront in the design process. The Design Review Server distributes the data visualization load across available networked computers so more designs can be effectively reviewed at your desktop. SIMULATION SPEED Extreme computational efciency for desktop and network computing Automated Solution Center simplies and accelerates solution process The new Accelerant Solver delivers solutions up to 20 times faster MESH GENERATION Auto assigns optimal mesh sizes Fully automated mesh generation Auto detection and adaptation for small features Convenient options to optimize mesh in narrow passages, thin regions, and areas with extreme aspect ratios SIMULATION SCOPE Fluid Flow Capabilities Internal/ External Laminar/ Turbulent Compressible/ Incompressible Subsonic, Transonic, Supersonic Steady State/ Transient Humidity Heat Transfer Capabilities Conduction Forced/ Natural Convection Conjugate Radiation Joule Solar Electronics Design PCB Characterizer Compact Thermal Models Thermostat-controlled Fans Motion Capabilities Motion-Driven Flow Flow-Driven Motion Free Motion with Collision Detection Rotating/ Turbomachinery Translating Orbital Nutating Angular Sliding Vane Pump Radiation with Motion Custom Motion Scenarios

Company History
Blue Ridge Numerics, Inc. is the fastest growing CFD company in the world. Since 1992, our CFdesign software has put comprehensive uid ow and heat transfer simulation upfront in the product development process where it creates tremendous value for small, medium, and large companies around the world. Developed on a proprietary technology platform, CFdesign helps companies cut the time and expense associated with physical prototyping and testing by 65% while creating more time and resources for activities related to product innovation. Blue Ridge Numerics, led by co-founders Ed Williams and Dr. Rita Schnipke, has broken down the technological barriers that previously prevented the integration of CFD within the mainstream product development process. By integrating complex mathematical techniques into a proprietary formulation tuned for use with the Finite Element method, they developed a robust, general-purpose analytical engine that produces accurate solutions with little human time or experience required.
