Prayer for Lamp Lighting

Na tatra suryo bhati na candra tarakam
nema vidyuto bhanti kutoyam agnihi
tameva bhantam anubhati sarvam
tasya bhasa sarvam idam vibhati

There the sun does not shine, nor do the moon and the stars. These streaks of lightning do not shine there either, (so)
what to speak of this fire? That, shining, makes all others shine. By virtue of its luminosity, all these (manifestations) are
illuminated.

Akasaval-lepa-vidoorgo'ham Aditya-vad-bhasya-vilakshano'ham;
Aharya-van-nitya-vinischalo'ham Abhodhi-vat-para-vivarjito'ham.
Like the sky, stainless am I. Like the sun, self-luminous am I.
Ever poised & unshakeable I am, like the mountain. Vast & unbounded I am, like the ocean.

yatraiva yatraiva shiro madeeyam tatraiva tatraiva padadvayam tae.

Yontha pravisya mama vacham imam prasuptham , SAjeevathyakhila Shakthi dhara swadhamna,

I salute the glorious God who is the Purusha, Who has entered within me and made me speak,

3. smaranam - Remembrance of Lord's Name.
4. pAda sEvanam - Service to the Lotus Feet of the Lord.
5. archanam - Worship of the Lord.
6. vandanam - Salutation of the Lord.
7. dAsyam - Master and Servant Relationship like the one between Sri Rama and Hanuman.
8. sakhyam - Companionship of the Lord.
9. Atma nivEdanam - Offering oneself to the Lord in complete self-surrender.
