- to introduce the topic of the lesson
- to present students the main features of a formal letter of complaint
- to familiarize students with the structure of a formal letter of complaint
- to develop the students writing skills

- SWBAT identify the difference between an informal and a formal letter
- SWBAT analyse a sample of formal letter of complaint
- SWBAT identify the complaint and justification from a formal letter of complaint
-SWBAT punctuate and divide a letter into paragraphs
Affective objectives:
- stimulate their imagination;
- be confident in them when speaking a foreign language
Teaching techniques: explanation, questions and answers, conversation, skimming, matching

Materials: worksheets, envelopes and coloured piece of paper, blackboard
Anticipated problems: Students may feel inhibited to speak freely because they are afraid of
making grammar mistakes. Teacher must encourage them and correct only the important
mistakes students make.
