Dear international student, how is the spring term shaping up for you? We have plenty of
exciting opportunities to help you develop the skills necessary to graduate as a professional
and skilled individual.
Job seeking and assessment centre workshops designed specifically for international
students.
Events on campus including job fairs and employer networking events and
presentations.
Summer internships
International students at degree level are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week
during term time, and full time in the vacation period on a temporary contract (not
permanent).
If you are a postgraduate student on a twelve month programme, you are considered
to be in 'term time' until the hand-in date for your dissertation in September.
Therefore you are not free to undertake full time work or a full time internship until
then.

The UoB Networking for International Students LinkedIn group has hundreds of members
and numbers are growing rapidly. Why dont you join today and keep informed of all the

Resources
The Careers Network website has a range of resources to help you to find a job in your
home country. You can also gain free access to Going Global, a huge database of information
on employers, vacancies and industry trends in a wide range of countries. To take up
employment back home, bear in mind that you may also have to meet early closing dates.
Other sections on the international web pages include country profiles, international
employers profiles, and the stories of international alumni giving valuable advice on how to
secure that graduate job.
