Game of Bones is a noncollectable cardbased game where you strive

to become the most powerful House in the realm and claim the crown
by gaining position through any means necessary to overcome your
rivals: marriage, magic, murder, bribery, betrayal, conquest, and luck.
They all play their role in the deadly Game of Bones

Objective
To amass enough power through death, influence, might, or wealth in
order to secure your dominion over your rival houses and so the realm.

Components
The game has the following components in the box:
1 rules booklet.
126 cards. These are colour-coded and cover 7 different types:
o Action x 14
o Event x 16
o House/Heirs x 18
o Resource x 24
o Retainer x 16
o Settlement x 14
o Vassal x 24
1 red six-sided dice.

Setup
Pick out the six House cards and shuffle these. Deal one to each player
and put the rest aside (they play no further part in the game).
Shuffle all the remaining cards and deal five cards to each player.
If you have any Heirs or Settlement cards then play these in front of
you into your Domain.

If you have any Event cards then discard these and draw the same
number of new cards. Repeat as necessary. Reshuffle the deck,
including any discarded Event cards. This deck becomes the Draw deck.
To decide who starts, each player rolls the dice and the highest roll
goes first. Reroll any ties. The order of play then goes clockwise around
the table for the remainder of the game.

Playing the Game

There are three steps to each players turn and the basic order of play
is as follows:
Draw one card.
Play one card.
Invoke one card. Note this is an optional action during your turn.
DRAW ONE CARD
Draw one card from the Draw deck. This card is added to your Hand
for Play later.
However, if you Draw an Event card, then the Event must be resolved
immediately as detailed on the card. It is possible to avoid the Event
through Fortunes Favour. Opting to try to win Fortunes Favour is
entirely voluntary.
PLAY ONE CARD
Play one card from your Hand. Heirs, Resources, Retainers, Settlements,
and Vassals may all be Played into your Domain to increase your
Influence, Might, and Wealth. Note that Bones scores are only counted
in your Boneyard and not in your Domain. Action cards are used
directly on or against players and never form part of your Domain.
INVOKE/DISCARD ONE CARD
Invoke/Discard one card from your Domain, if you wish. Some
Resources, Retainers and Vassals have an Invoke/Discard ability that
result in a variety of effects. These effects can also be improved with
the Fortunes Favour option on the card, although there is always a
chance of failure associated. Trying to win Fortunes Favour is optional.

Your House card also provides a number of special Invoke options.

However, this card can only be used once during the game.
CONTINUED PLAY
If the Draw deck empties then the Discard pile is shuffled to make a
new Draw deck. Play continues until a winning condition is met.

Winning the Game

The game is won by the first player who achieves any of the following:
A score of 10 or more Bones in their Boneyard.
A score of 10 or more Influence in their Domain.
A score of 10 or more Might in their Domain.
A score of 10 or more Wealth in their Domain.
